Dont risk it man peoole have burned their house down befor. For those using cobs or leds do you think its safe (e.g fire risk) to go on vacation for 5 or 6 days and leave the garden? whats the longest people have gone?
Being there doesn't affect the chances of fire, sure. But you can respond to it.It makes no sense to say check it once a day. If a fire is going to start it's going to start in a few minutes, checking it once a day won't prevent that. I don't see any increased risk of leaving your garden for a few days vs leaving it for 12 hours
Yeah, I get it, it just seems to me that a fire would start in a matter of maybe 15 or 30 seconds, so you would have to just happen to be they're physically at that particular very short moment which would be very unlikely.Being there doesn't affect the chances of fire, sure. But you can respond to it.
Could mean the difference between some smoke damage and a total loss.
I bet the entire time you sat and worried thoughI've taken a week off with everything running. I use cmh, but I think you should be fine. Check for safety: no water near electrical equip., no wires touching things they shouldn't, etc.
As long as you have enough water to last your duration it'll be fine. If you're in veg, your plants will be taller of course. So, do some training if you think your plants will hit the light
Lol no, not at all. I was actually excited to see how big they would be. I knew they wouldn't have hit the light. I have my cmh at the ceiling of the tent.I bet the entire time you sat and worried though
Or unicorns might fly out of my but, congregate at his grow, and munch all his plants, leaving herb tinged rainbow feces covering his grow.As i see it your risk maybe:
Failing cob catches fire
Water somehow shorts something out and catches fire
Something touches the LES and catches fire
The AC side of things are wired in a messy or silly way and somehow catches fire
Fialing cob: if its a serial connection it should will break the circuit and no more power thru the cobs. In parallel you may have extra power thru the rest of the cobs and have overheating, so serial should be safer
Water shorts something: should be fine if you insulate all uncovered live connections and make sure dew forming is impossible: low RH and steady temps.
Something touches Les: keep your lights higher and/or lower the wattage
Ac side: make sure everything is tidy and not having 3 plugs in the same extension etc.
There may be other things i dont think of but basic advice: make sure temps and humidity dont fluctuate for possible dew on connections, raise and dim lights.
If youre this worried it may be better to not leave it as you will spend the whole time worrying, which means that whatever youre doing on your time away will be affected as your head is on your grow.
Ps: i think it will be fine, if youre youre this worried about leaving the grow you probably was carefull setting it up
