Are you getting ready to cry again?
You believe in Shankara? I disagree that Brahma and our jiva are one.I’m an Advaitin, by the way, not a Buddhist. I have read and understood many of the Great Books, Rishis, and Sannyasi. It is clear that you do not.
“Ayam Atma Brahma.”
“This Soul is Brahma.”
Advaita means “Not-Two.” The One without a Second. It is one of the oldest extant forms of Hinduism and, at its root, Vedic thought from 5,500 years ago (~3,500-3,800 BCE), including Buddhism.
Hey, alt.right boy,You believe in Shankara? I disagree that Brahma and our jiva are one.
I some what agree with Ramanuja that Brahma and jiva are separate. Karma is beginningless. Where I completely disagree is Brahma can be the creator of all. Because that contradicts his theory of karma, which is similar to the Buddha's dependent origination.
Amitabha (Dharmakaya) is similar to Ramanuja's concept of Brahma with veneration towards Vishnu, that instead doesn't violate any of the Buddha's teachings.
But try explaining that to the unwashed masses who think Buddhism is just another name for atheistic humanism. If that were so, why didn't he align himself with the Charvakas?
Then how do you explain why only humans contemplate their own existance? Are you an atheist? Because if so, that wrong theory makes nothingness and random your god. And that's absolutely ludicrous.Hey, alt.right boy,
You probably forgot my earlier question made to our RIU pet nazi alt.right fascist so I hope it doesn't trouble you that I ask again. Why is it that you White supremacists get so angry that they just drive into a crowd of people?
I believe that we are all literally God; that matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration, as evidenced by the amount of energy released by the splitting of an atom (as well as the fusion of atoms, such as that which creates all elements in existence within the nuclear fusion cauldron of a star), and that energy is God. I have met God, and learned I am one with it, because God is all there is. Had I not realized God, I would very likely be dead of my own doing by now, as many here might tell you. Then how do you explain why only humans contemplate their own existance? Are you an atheist? Wow, you're fogdog? Because I asked Olive what his thoughts on Shankara versus Ramanuja on Brahma(God) being a differentated jiva or part of Brahma(Borg collective hive mind), two opposing views on advaita. Thank you for answering, fogdog!I believe that we are all literally God; that matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration, as evidenced by the amount of energy released by the splitting of an atom (as well as the fusion of atoms, such as that which creates all elements in existence within the nuclear fusion cauldron of a star), and that energy is God. Thank you for speaking for me, thinking you know what I believe/know, thus demonstrating your immaturity and egotism. You make it obvious.

I tend to take the views of Shankara. Ramanuja was the patron of Vishishtadvaita, not Advaita. Vishishtadvaita is Qualified Nondualism/Nondualism with qualifications/caveats. If you were well-studied, you would know that, and you also wouldn’t get caught up on details to recall, but the actual application of what you’ve learned. I can sense your egotism. You scream “klesha” and “dvesha” with your actions.Wow, you're fogdog? Wanna try again at the question I asked you, not fogdog?
"Ramanuja's celebrated system of philosophy known as Visishtadvaita or qualified monism is Advaita or non-dualism with a qualification or Visesha." That's like a protestant complaining Catholics aren't Christian.I tend to take the views of Shankara. Ramanuja was the patron of Vishishtadvaita, not Advaita. It is a very specific branch of its own, similar to Mahayana vs Theravada. You’re now not only being egotistical, you are defensively playing semantics. You also literally just proved me right."Ramanuja's celebrated system of philosophy known as Visishtadvaita or qualified monism is Advaita or non-dualism with a qualification or Visesha." That's like a protestant complaining Catholics aren't Christian.
I read Sri-bhashya which purports Shankara's views and his immediate rebuttal views. In any case, I've yet to read any religious point of view the Buddha didn't address. That doesn't mean I haven't read what others said, I just don't agree.
I enjoy playing semantic mind games when the real egotistical one is those like you who dare say I'm not X. Then I laugh when you say, "Thank you for speaking for me, thinking you know what I believe/know, thus demonstrating your immaturity and egotism. You make it obvious." Because you did the same exact thing in your first accusational post to me with your mansplaining garbage. It is a very specific branch of its own, similar to Mahayana vs Theravada. You’re now not only being egotistical, you are defensively playing semantics. You also literally just proved me right.
Thank you mansplainer! You are very obviously demonstrating both these things, particularly with your political views (which are not conducive to Buddhist practice):
——————————
“Kleshas (Sanskrit: क्लेश, translit. kleśa; Pali: किलेसkilesa; Standard Tibetan: ཉོན་མོངས།nyon mongs), in Buddhism, are mental states that cloud the mind and manifest in unwholesome actions. Kleshas include states of mind such as anxiety, fear, anger, jealousy, desire, depression, etc. Contemporary translators use a variety of English words to translate the term kleshas, such as: afflictions, defilements, destructive emotions, disturbing emotions, negative emotions, mind poisons, etc.”
———————————
“Dvesha (hate, aversion) is the opposite of raga (lust, desire). Along with Ragaand Moha, Dvesha is one of the three character afflictions that, in part, cause Dukkha.[4][5] It is also one of the "threefold fires" in Buddhist Pali canon that must be quenched.[6][7][8]
Dvesha (dosa) is identified in the following contexts within the Buddhist teachings:
Walpola Rahula renders it as "hatred",[9]as does Chogyam Trungpa.[10]”
- One of the three poisons (Trivisah) within the Mahayana Buddhist tradition.[3]
- One of the three unwholesome rootswithin the Theravada Buddhist tradition
- One of the fourteen unwholesome mental factors within the Theravada Abhidharma teachings
——————————
“Moha (Sanskrit, Pali; Tibetan phonetic: timuk) is a Buddhist concept of character affliction or poison, and refers to "delusion, confusion, dullness".[1][2][3]It is sometimes synonymous with "ignorance" (avidyā).[1]
Moha appears in the Vedic literature, and has roots in early Vedic word mogha which means "empty, unreal, vain, useless, foolish".[7] The term, as well as the three defects concept appears in the ancient texts of Jainism and some schools of Hinduism such as Nyaya, in their respective discussion of the theory of rebirths.[8]
The term means "delusion, confusion, dullness".[1] The opposite of Moha is Prajna (insight, wisdom). Beliefs different from those considered as insights in Buddhism, are forms of delusions or Moha in Buddhism. Moha is one of the roots of evil, in the Buddhist belief.[5]”
You sound offended that I am calling you out for being a hypocrite for not adhering to Dharma, and thus projecting your inadequacies onto me.I enjoy playing semantic mind games when the real egotistical one is those like you who dare say I'm not X. You’re welcome, little boy.Thank you mansplainer!
I just like screwing with lefty idiots. I was minding my business in the religious section when I saw a UncleBuck post there. I corrected an obvious lie of his, not knowing he was troll dejour. So he fucked with me. I then followed him here doing the same. But then do gooders had to butt in to our good time. Now anyone who screws with me is fair game too.You sound offended that I am calling you out for being a hypocrite for not adhering to Dharma, and thus projecting your inadequacies onto me.
Lefty idiots. Obvious Dvesha. You’re really getting in your own way with this. You very clearly don’t understand what Buddhism, Hinduism, or Vedic & Sramanic thought is even about.I just like screwing with lefty idiots. If you want real posts from me I've already invited several, and you're welcome to ask me non-troll questions in my Buddha Sunday School.thread in the Religion section. There I assure you my answers adhere to the dharma nearly as 100% to my ability. Or if anyone is uncomfortable asking on the forum, PM me and I'll give a more personal response.
Got it?
Now, game on!
huhThen how do you explain why only humans contemplate their own existance? Are you an atheist? Because if so, that wrong theory makes nothingness and random your god. And that's absolutely ludicrous.
It would be reasonable to conclude so.Lefty idiots. Obvious Dvesha. You’re really getting in your own way with this. You very clearly don’t understand what Buddhism, Hinduism, or Vedic & Sramanic thought is even about.
