200w 4 c.o.b. citizen or 300w 3 c.o.b. Vero for 19"x46"

I got a nice, basically, 2x4 cabinet for pollen chucking this winter and plan on just having enough light for some smaller (1 ounce dry bud size) plants seeded. So not looking for major yields, just good enough.

I'm going to get a ready to frame kit from timber and was wondering if the 4 c.o.b. citizen would be good enough with the extra spread even though it is lacking the watts? I mean I'd probably have the 300w veros turned down a bit anyway and the spread would be lacking a little.

Also would the 3500k be better for seed production or the 3000k? Any input would be appreciated.

Also, I don't want to completely build my own light because I live in an apt with a small mailbox so any larger packages or packages not sent through USPS tend to be a hassle for me to receive. Either I have to have it sent to a friend's house or to my work and I just don't want to deal with ordering 10 or more separate items from separate vendors and what not. So one box from timber is worth the extra I'm paying for their labor.

just get a 250w hps or a 315 lec u will get a way better yeild

Already went the 250w hps route with the same cabinet back in 2004 and was too much of a pain in the ass to keep cool and the reflector took up too much room. A c.o.b setup is gonna be much more streamlined.

And I literally said in my original comment, which I doubt you even read, that I'm not looking for "yield."

What about making fixture and using four QB 120's or 132;s....3500k

If youre just going to do this for seeds id go with 315 cmh, maybe a bit dimmed: cmh gives you some of the healthiest plants you can find, in this case id iook for health rather than efficiency. Also, CMHs give off some heat but from what ive seen CMH plants seem to deal with high heat much better than HPS, sorta similar to leds. Good luck

i agree with airwalker. if cost isnt a factor i would get the more powerful fixture and dim it. then if your set up ever changes or you need more light you just turn it up instead of buying a whole new fixture.

i dunno anything about which spectrum is better for seed production.

I've done 4x cob 3000k citizen runs in a 2x4 @ around 160 - 180 watts from the wall, they stomped ass @ 16" - 18" up.

I'm guessing the 4 cob @ 200w will be more than enough for my needs because I'm not growing anything to smoke in this cabinet, just chucking beans.

Although I do like the extra 100w the Vero kit could give me. I think I'll email timber and see what they say about a 4 cob Vero @ 75w.

hang it vert and no way it would be a pain in the ass it chucks out like 5c+ extra heat

Actually I'm thinking about going with the 2 qb Samsung kit @ 240 instead. I was thinking the cobs but overlooked the qb option. I think for the application those will work nicely and it gives me a little over 200w to boot.

I'm guessing I'll just go with the 3000k for flowering. What say y'all?
