New to auto-flowering

Well I bought my first pack of autos off of budda seeds. I got a ten pack of magnum and a six pack of red dwarf. I started the pack of magnum and only 5 sprouted. I'm not gonna lie I was very disappointed with the seeds They are very sickly looking and have nitrogen deficiency. I used organic soil with pearlite and gave them quarter strength so I don't understand why the nitrogen deficiency are occurring. I have thought since gone to half strength nutrients and some green has returned with vigour but very small and wimpy. For what budda advertised it's the complete opposite. I always use a ph of 6.5 when working in soil so I know it's not a ph problem. It's been very frustrating watching these magnum grow hopefully my next grow goes better.

Sounds like your a new grower feeding seedlings in already hot soil. You dont feed new plants unless your growing ina soilless medium that doesnt have nutes.

And im not sure what you mean by your seeds have nitrogen defiency....more plants have been killed by new growers overfeeding than all other issues put together
 
No i didn't feed them for the first 17 days cause I was afraid of nutrient burn plus I was warned about how sensitive autos are and the only reason I gave nutrients were because of how weak they were looking and my soil is organic compost so I knew it had plenty of nutrients. This is my first grow using autos but I have grown photo period with the same soil and had good results

Why are so many people running auto's the idea never even occurred to me?

Well, i mean Mike Buds got 3.5 oz off of a 60 day ssed to chop auto and that was the lowest if i recall so..... why would i want 4 oz in 2 months when i can just frlower for 4 and get 10 or 12 o_O don't know what OP got but there are good autos and bad autos. Not the autos of 10 years ago though which is what thise that don't grow them dont know. You can now grow and harvest in 65-75 days (a good breeder like Mephisto, Dinafem, Fastbuds and Sweet Seeds to name what i would choose) and get 4 oz minimum and up to 10-12 depending on grow equipment and skills. Thc up in the mid to high 20s. They are just as good as photos but requitmre more skills than a photo grower to get right.

Not enough airation?

I am of the opinion that all media for growing autos should be cut with 1/3 chunky coir.

Many auto seed producers recommend to never transplant, and to have highly airiated media cut with 1/3 coir.

I grow autos in 60% peat 40% perlite mix that is then cut with 1/3 chunky coir. Also try fabric pots.

Air air air! With autos.

The clock is running once you drop the seed, problems make for tiny plants.

Me I run autos because I grow outdoors, in a less than ideal marine area with a short warm/dry season. I gotta finish by early September, unless I want to stress on mold in my perpetual fog bank.

Autos let me grow a great number of strains, and allow me to flower when I want to not when day length dictates. I can get two crops in a summer. (Starting plants indoors) So my 15 plant at a time medical license produces plenty of medicine for myself.

Yeah unfortunately I'm outside and it's been a very rainy season. I have one started in side right now a sugar black rose auto.
 
You honestly need to start with the top breeders seeds since so little margin for error. You can be a pro but not good genetics especially autos and SOL no matter what. You should have researched well for top auto breeders. Od look at Mephisto(what i prefer being a new auto grower myself but i nailed my first grow easy) and Dinafem would be top choices. Sweet Seeds and Fastbids would be a notch lower but by no means second rate. And i always heatd good things on Dutch Passion. Plenty of breeders that sell autos but these specialize and work hard on top quality auto genes.

Yeah I definitely will look into different breeders and stay away from budda seeds.

Dinafem and Sweet ive heard about for years with good success. Mephisto and Fastbuds didn't really hear about till last few but(and i am biased) i feel like Mephisto is at the top. Research they are all over and reviews to show the quality. Safest bet for someone new? Dinafem/Sweet Seeds. Popular and top of what is going on at the moment? Mephisto/Fastbuds. They are all good choices and can't go wrong.

I agree i think that may be the problem also . Roots may be having problems developing .

I hope you didnt start those autos outdoors mate. Depending on your climate (too cold at night etc) that could have also stunted them. Which is what im getting at because they are outside.
 
Could have been but he lives in the same region as i do and we have had a hot wet year starting in june . High humidity , lots of rain and temps have been mid 80's to mid 90's all the time ...or raining lol
