Best T5 setup for good price

Hello guys I was wondering if anyone had any good T5 fixtures and lights with a decent price they would recommend for vegging. I have a 4x4 I am using for veg and was thinking of using 2 possibly 3 light fixtures depending on how they fit in there. That way I can adjust to the different heights of the plants since I will be using the veg tent for mother’s aswell as clones.

What are your dimensions and how is your ventilation? There are quite a few options in the same price range with better quality of light than T5's.

I have a 4x4x7 tent I veg in I have exhaust fan i am using on my ac hood with 2 oscillating fans. I was just seeing if there was any light options better and cheaper then using the mh to veg?

MH rocks for veg I wouldn't change it up I have been trying to veg with some cheap led lights and the plants are nothing compared to my MH that I'll be hanging back up in the morning. Used to use t5s and still dont compare to the mh. My node spacing was better with t5 but my branches are so much thicker with the mh.

Yea I like using the mh just was trying to eliminate the heat and energy use with the mh
You can build a led light that will do well but it will be fairly costly if you have a decent size space. But lowers light bill and less heat (not as much as some make it seem but not as much as mh puts out)

If you already have an air cooled hood then I would stick with that. Maybe just use less watts.
Watts equal heat, if you change down to lower wattage t5 then you reduce heat but you don't have the option to air cool those (that I know of) I know air cooled hoods set up right take a huge amount of the heat away. You may find yourself worse off if say you went with 400w of t5 non air cooled over say 600w mh air cooled.

Other option would be build a very efficient LED strip build or buy one from omegalight.net assuming your in USA. With the higher efficiency you could run a lot less watts.

What wattage MH are you running in your 4x4 at the moment?

I am running a 315 CMH. It puts out about the same amount of heat as a 250 HPS and is probably equivalent to about 500 watts of MH/HPS lightning. It's not cheaper but, it is more efficient in the long run than a 400MH because of the efficiency and not having to replace lamps. Lamp replacement definitely adds up in the long run.

you're not going to save a lot of money or produce a lot less heat with t5s, i run one 8 bulb fixture in my veg area. thats 400 watts. if you run 3, that'll be 1200 watts. my one fixture gets fairly warm, 3 would make an enclosed area pretty damn warm. i get good results with it, but you could get just as good in a larger area with a couple of decent qbs, or some strips, and actually save a little money and heat

I am currently running a 600w mh in the veg tent. I like the results from vegging with it just didn’t know if I could get the same results using less heat and less energy

I was researching into those but just don’t know if I want to make that jump

I don't know the efficiency of either fixture to be honest so I had a look about.
Came across an old thread on here. Cant vouch for the numbers but look at post 1.

Looks like the t5 is slightly more efficient. But still those numbers are still terrible when compared to LED strips
I post this for reference
