Cheap fan silencer

Just made this for my room, cost about $20 and cut my fan noise by 3/4, all you need is a bucket with a lid 2 150mm duct connectors some mesh to roll the center pipe and some polyester stuffing

I use the same method but switched to rockwool, after a few months the polyester had gotten mouldy.
Cheap and very effective!

I have mine hooked up between my carbon filter and my fan in my room so it gets about 18°c to 25°c

Mine is on exhaust just to stop the whooshing noise, which was loud especially at nighttime, I don't have the space to put it between the fan and filter.
I can stand next to my exhaust and it's near enough silent.

Yeah mine works a treat I made a bigger one for the exhaust end, with both of them and the fan box I made it's pretty much silent
