Need help with dying plants

Hey guys,

So this is my second time growing ever and I've ran into a lot of problems recently. I have two plants and a clone together in a 24x24 growtent in coco. Rn I'm using cfl's but when I started i was using a 1000W LED (actually about 180W). I figured the light would be to big but I wanted to give it a try anyways. Since I'm using a scrog I was able to keep the lights about 27 inches above the plants.
During veg everything was fine but after I switched to flowering the plants started showing symptomps of what I believed was light burn.



(About two weeks into flowering)

So after it got worse over the next couple days I switched back to cfls which I was using for my first grow. But the symptomes kept getting worse. This is also my first time adding calmag to the nutritions but I think I couldve given too much during flowering so I flushed them twice and I'm now feeding them just nutes without any calmag.

It has also been very hot weather so the temperatures inside are around 90 degrees.

They're a little over 4 weeks into flowering but the buds didnt really grow in size at all.
The plants aren't really looking good and as far as I can tell its still getting slightly worse on a couple leaves.

I'm really not sure what to do or what the problem really is, so any info/help at all would be great.

It isn't light burn. If it were, all of the leaves at that same height would look relatively the same.

It looks more like a magnesium deficiency to me that is working its way through the older growth first.

Only one shot of cal mag that you identified as a problem? And then flushed it but no more cal mag. What's the rationalization for that?

Try to get a few grows under your belt the easy way, with dirt. I'll never understand why brand new people try to jump into coco, or hydro. Doing these style it's easy for someone to run into big problems like this, or outright kill their plants...

I'm with taco, looks like nute issues, could be mag. A bit of Epsom salt will be a easy way to fix it, or calmag.
Imo next run go with soil, fox farms or comparable high quality brand.

I fed calmag from the beginning of veg until a few weeks into flowering at about 4ml per gallon. Since I dont have a lot of experience yet my best guess besides the lights was a nutrient lockout caused by too much calmag. Thats because I finished my first grow completely without calmag. Im only using it this time because i figured I could increase plant growth and yield

So should I start adding calmag to the water again?

ph is always around 6 and I'm using HESI wich has npk values of 3-3-4. I'm adding around 12ml per gallon

well the answer is the same as the last guy so I just copied that.

Flush out your pot with clean water phed at 6.5 at least two-three gallons shop vac all that up. Then renute at half strength add b-vitamins {superthrive} for the stress add microbes for any root issues and nutrient uptake. Add that mix to run off clean it all up and then leave it alone as far as watering anything else till the pot dries up. Pick off all the leaves that are 60% missing any green in them as they are trash and blocking light an any good leaves. You could get by without the b-vitamins but dont do this without the microbes in your water when you renute them.

maybe cut the cal mag to 2 ml per gallon you definitely need a ppm meter and a ph meter

what deficiency you have is mostly potassium and second is mag. I would guess you burnt up your plant by too high of a ppm, when its hot the plant drinks more but cant process the nutes and burn itself up, so when it hot and they will drink more just due to the heat you need to back off on the ppm when you feed them === put your flower light back in

seen the hesi post you want a bloom nute from now on that sounds like a veg nute to me.

I cant find hesi 3/33/4 is that a veg nute? you need a bloom nute in flower. at any rate you need to up you K and mag and lower you N unless you want to restrict you bud development and have airy buds

Its not an american brand so its probably not that common but its definately a bloom nute.

So I'll start feeding them less n and more of the pk nutes also some calmag. I'll get microbes as soon as I can and then flush them

So basically your feeding it a 3/10/9 which you should of started at week two. maybe change nutes for the next run or get a powdered potassium only to up the K a little by 50 ppms or so. What I am trying to say if you had a ppm meter and mixed your nutes and it came to X amount then added a powdered K and it came to X plus 50 ppms that would be ok to feed and then go from there.

I guess you dont need to switch just have a little K on hand if you get a potassium deficiency again on the next grows you can just add that in to correct it.
