Hi guys,
I'm getting some clones at some point this week and i'm excited to do so since i've only ever used (highstreet) seeds from the likes of BARNEYS FARM/GREENHOUSE/RQS/DINAFEM
I see now that my chances of finding a top elite keeper from these packs of seeds that cost €30 for x5 is very unlikely since most pheno hunters don't use feminized seeds to start with and defiantly don't just use 5x seeds to do so' more like x50 x100 of regular seeds to find a keeper.
It's taken me 2yrs to understand some of these problems that 'hobby growers come across on there journey to perfection lol
MY QUESTIONS
(1) what type of soil is best for keeping mother plants? Light mix/full mix?
(2) what NPK ratio do mother plants enjoy for healthy "slow"growth?
(3) is a 24/7 light scedual ok for mother plants since most of the growth happens at lights off?
(4) is it ok to use RO water with a Ec of 000
(5) 7/14 days before taking clones' should I do a root drench of NITROZYME or foliar feed ?
(6) should the soil be slightly dry or damp before taking clones
I don't want to run out and buy a separate nutrient feed if I don't have to ' so I'm considering using DUTCH MASTER GOLD RANGE GROW 'ONE' for maintaining my mother plants.
Here are the NPK ratios in the DM GOLD grow one
Nitrogen 1%
Phosphorus 0.7%
Potassium 3%
Calcium 0.8%
Magnesium 0.4%
Sulfur 0.05%
Boron 0.002%
Copper 0.001%
Iron 0.002%
Manganese 0.003%
Molybdenum 0.001%
Zinc 0.001%
Can anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work well for keeping mother plants, I was told that a lower 'N' is required for mother plants along with a bump in 'K'
