Curing in high temps?

about a week from cutting down a finished lady. Two others aren’t finished yet. How can I dry my lady without messing it up with the extremely high temps and low humidity. Been just over/under 100 for weeks now and rh is around 30. If they all finished at the same time I was going to just hang them in my tent. Don’t want to bring them inside. WAs told to just hang them in a box in my tent for 36 hours and then start curing. Any advice or tips is greatly appreciated.

Well it is going to dry extremly fast. I'm assuming you know high temps drys it out faster, and low temps slow down the drying process.

And i'm sure you know its the opposite with humidity as you mentioned low humidity. Low humid dry faster. High humid dry slower.

Also temps over 75 I think is what will degrade thc. I'm not sure, but a box would let the humidity build up. As well as raising temperature. Though being in a tent with the box and the sun beating on the tent rather than the box the box will probably be cooler than the tent air.

I think high humidity and high temperature hugely increases mold risk. Moreso than say high temp and low humidity, or low temp and high humidity.

You could make a shade to shade the tent, and as I mentioned the box would probably let the humidity build up in a smaller space as well as it being paper would soak up some moisture.

These next suggestion is just a thought I had, but like a shade you could put wet towels on the tent? This is probably a bad suggestion.

You have a hygrometer right? At the least wal-mart should have an Acu-Rite temp, and hygrometer for 9$. Its over beside paint, and guns somewhere.

Why dont you want to bring them inside? An A/C unit will bring down temperature, and humidity. Mine puts the room in the optimal dry zone.

How much do you know? People will put a pan with water in the area to raise humidity. Though I'm not sure if its better to just dry fast with those temperatures it would seem like it. Prolonging the dry might be counterproductive. The temp is probably more a factor than the humidity.

Someone else will give you a better shorter answer though.

Your not going to bring it inside for the cure thpugh, right?

Ur gonna degrade some of the terpenes with those high temperatures. The flavor and aroma will suffer. Get the temps down to below 90 if u can.

I looked at your post, and saw you were asking about if it were done because the pistils.

Well I dont know which is which, but plants grown under lights vs plants grown outside under the sun one will be ready for harvest faster than say if it were grown inside outside. Thinking its outside in the sun will finish faster. Also some strains just never stop producing pistils. Also heat stress / light intensity stress as another poster mentioned.

If you don't buy an AC unit you will wish you had spent the $100 for some AC. You don't want to ruin it now after all that time taking care of them.

Just to make sure I clear everything up. I have a grow tent in a garage. I have three ladies and they are gg4 from ILGM. I don’t have the duct or a fan in my tent but I do have a window unit rigged to my tent. The three ladies will not be done the same time. Ones about a week behind the other and the third is still cakes with white pistils. I was going to shut my light off and dry and cure in my tent where I can keep the temps around 75-80 as long as my mh/hps is off. I don’t want to bring the stuff inside my house cuz I have kids and a wife and don’t want our house to stink. I’ll post some pics in a minute so you can see everything. That and I was half asleep when I wrote that last night.

First pic is plant almost done. The second pic shows two plants. The one on the right is getting close to ready and the plant on the left still has to swell. Next pic is my tent and the box im thinking about using and the last pic just shows how I thought about hanging them in the box from the string. This is only my second grow and the plants look good and healthy but I don’t want to put in all this work for nothing lol.

I would get them in jars while they're still on the wet side, it will take your full attention not to mold your buds. Higher temps speeds the cure process so there is a benefit.

I’m thinking about putting them in the box and sticking them in my grow tent to dry but I may only dry it for 24-36 hours and then try and cure. I just don’t know if closing the box and putting it in my tent will help keep it cooler. I can poke a few holes in the bottom and top of the box and put a box fan on it. That way it has fresh air circulating in the box but not directly on a bud. I’m having to get creative lol. Thanks for any help guys.

I wrote that a few days ago on another thread but two of them are about done. Just have one that is behind and still covered in pistils. The one that’s behind is on the left.

All you can do is monitor your conditions and the state your buds are at. Keep a close eye on your situation and you should be fine.

Did you ever harvest? And cure? I'm in the same conditions with a harvest coming up soon.
Yes I cut it down. Dried for two and a half days. Jarred it but it kept getting too wet. I had to keep taking hen out and drying and then jarring them again. After about three days of that I could dry a piece and smoke it and I was getting blazed. It’s still curing but I can already pull it out if the jar whenever and smoke lol. The longer I cure though the better taste it has.
