Well, they are crazy Haha. No offense to the people inside of the EU, they dont have much choice, a side from rising up.
But trying to ban memes, ect.. there is a long list of things.
Of course the good ol USA isnt to far behind.
Yup were arrestin folks for callin people by their correct, but unfavorable pronouns!

I don't have any problem at buying from digikey or arrow and having packages shipped to EU.
I chose DHL shipping and paid all fees at checkout, in the end I payed less: 30eur on a 150eur order, that is around 20%, that is close to the VAT in my country. Worth everything.
(20x 2ft eb2 strips and driver)

Yea, 25pcs 2ft. Q-series strips(9,9w, 198lm/w in 3500°k) would be around 235€ shipped, incl. VAT!
I would run them with ~525mA or 12w per strip on an HLG-320H-24A or B, would be ~300w with 195lm/w effiency.
System effiency should be +2,5μmol/J or almost similar to 3 Zeus boards(3,25 to be precise) but you can get much better distribution with strips! Not so bad IMO for a bit over 300€!

Yea, a hell lot of shit is going on here currently. Not much EU left after the whole dispute over the many refugees, Erdogan in now like a king and can do what he want and he has a few million refugees in his ghetto's to blackmail another few billions, Italy is also bankrupt and slowly it looks like the whole euro zone would soon dissolve completely.
Everywhere is a crisis and environmental protection and human rights are the first things falling by the wayside. :spew:

Those 1120mm Q's don't go beyond 900mA, right?
1050 mA no go?

LT-QB22A (80 Diodes, 16 Series x 5 Parallel, Voltage = ~48V, Max Current = 1,000mA)
That's from LEDGardener. The Samsung datasheet says 900mA. So im unsure.
the LM301B Forward current is 200mA
so 200x5 = 1000mA

Yea, Samsung firstly used 180mA max for LM301b and increased the max current later to 200mA.
Could be the reason for the 900mA rating.

Also when we use 1000mA it's a bit above the limit. I don't think you'll get any trouble when you mount the strips on c-channels or small heatsinks but I would anyway not drive them above 500-600mA. Q-series is the most efficient strip currently and I would not drive them harder. At 720mA the diodes would already run with the same current like on H-inFlux(125/130mA) strips.
For my example above I've used 2footers and 12w per strip, with the 4footers it would be ~24-25w per strip.
10pcs 4ft. strips(800 diodes, probably AZ/SK) plus an HLG-240-48A or C-1050B(5S2P wiring) would cover a 2x 4' area pretty well and you still get ~195lm/w in 3500°k or ~2,7μmol/j and at least +2,5μmol/J on system level.
That's pretty good for a DIY build for less than 400 bucks.

Yea, but in this case I would need 5x more channels which adds up on costs... And weight!

I want reuse 240-C1050A driver for half of 4x4 tent, other half (half minus one strip) will have 6x 1212 at 700mA (150W).
Best option is F's right now for my wishes. 5x 1120mm F's on 240-C1050A (240W) and 6x 1212 at 700mA (150W).

That way I only need 120€ for strips and 35€ for 150W driver... and I have new 400W light for 4x4 tent.

But this efficiency chasing is very addicting... I don't know if I wait till Christmas if something new comes out... Blux maybe... Or more LM301C...

You need more than one 240 to flower a 4X4

I've just discovered they now sell qbs, one month ago they didn't. I'll ask what's the real price of the single board kit + driver and stuff.
You don't want to get stuff off digikey or arrow because...no, we still don't know why.
But you rather prefer getting your lights from China with incredibly high shipping costs and customs fee? You can't even be sure to get legit Samsung diodes, if you're lucky u get lm561b+ diodes

Kingbrite is actually pretty legit.

it's because sometimes they put a low price on the pack and you don't pay custom fees. Also this pack is lighter than cobs with multiple heatsinks so the shipping may be cheaper, when I have more informations I'll report here. Anyway kingbrite is a reliable seller, for cobs though, don't know about qbs, these are uncharted waters.

I bought one of my cobs setups from J. I am not talking about the reliability of that seller.
How many lm561c pcb did we see from china? how many of these are actually made of lm561c?
I don't even wanna talk about bin of these.

I thought about getting boards from china too but in the end I got strips:
- I know what diodes I am getting. I am sure of what diodes I am going to use
- Better spread

Even if the shipping price is lower than cobs and they put a low price on the package, shipping by courier will get you to pay customs fee.
