How Fast Can I Get In Shape?

It's hard to stay in shape and fit when you are just staying at home and cook for your family. I do that everyday and only a few exercises. I want to establish my goal in losing weight and focus on maintaining my ideal weight. But, how fast can I get in shape? Can you tell me some tips?

Round is a shape so you are already there! All jokes aside, the rate at which you get into shape is dependent on the effort you put into it. If you work out for 20 minutes 3 days a week...you will never get into shape. 2 hours a day, 6 days a week and you will be there in no time. Start slow and work your way up or you will be too sore to want to go back.

A lot depends on your diet. Get that in line and you can do it quick. I do keto which it’s easy for me to burn 1.5 lbs or more a day.depending on where I’m at and what I’m doing exercise and eating wise I have been able to lose 2.5 lbs in a day. If your a lady it’s harder just a bit than for a man but I’ve helped plenty of men and women hit that 1.5 a day mark but you have to want it bad enough.

i work out hard twice a week, but i don't just sit on my ass the rest of the week, hit the treadmill till i break a good sweat, do a few kata,
make the heavy bag dance for a few minutes. then i take a shower and eat something
being active makes a big difference. take a walk in the afternoon instead of a nap.
get some of that shit around the house done that you've been putting off, yard work isn't exercise, exactly, but it's a damn site better for you than sitting in front of the monitor

Its going to take dedication. Start making healthy choices. just small choices start making a difference if you make them often. Should i get a soda or get a water?
Stop and get drive thru or go home and eat there. Watch tv or go for a walk.

Start by getting your diet in line. If you eat a healthy balanced diet within a few days you will start to have more energy and be more likely to get up and do a little exercise. Once you get the ball rolling the momentum will build and pretty soon you will be feeling so good you wont want to stop. Starting is the hardest part. If you can commit to something for a month it will just become habit

seriously, if you're observant, a walk around the neighborhood can be more entertaining than television. who has a new car? who fights loud enough to hear from the sidewalk? who's gardening, what are they growing? who's watching you walk around from behind their curtains.....every neighborhood is Peyton Place.....

Start by working out and eating a strict diet. Grilled chicken breast steamed veggies. You will be sore from workouts. Let the soreness subside as soon as your better hit it again. Water. The body can survive on very little food. You may surprise yourself.

my biggest advice to clients who dont have much experience with exercise is to get yourself a gym membership (10 bucks a month) and start watching youtube! lots of educational vids out there to help you nail your diet and learn some exercises to try at home (calisthenics) or the gym. Just find some type of exercise you enjoy and make it a habit, same time most or every day.

oh.... and yeah eat wayyy less dicks if possible.... helps a lot

Keto is a yo-yo diet.
It is not sustainable.

Not really it’s very sustainable. Eat meat and veggies and simply don’t eat processed carbs. Any other carbs you take in simply be mindful of your intake. There is no daily requirement for carb intake. If you look you’ll find the best glucose for brain function is created by the body itself.
I know exactly zero people who stuck to that diet after they lost weight.
They get fat, then go back on keto to drop the weight. (repeat)

Constant weight fluctuation is not healthy, even if it's only 10 or 15 lbs at a time.

The problem is they see it as a diet. I hate that word. People should few anything as a full on life style change. Take the op looking for something fast if done right you can maintain and be healthy it’s all in the head. I eat clean low to no carbs other than what comes from veggies and simply eat clean. I used to do dirty bulking back when I use to power lift and was in the military. Now I maintain a keto style eating and I’m healthy as far as my heart, liver and everything is concerned. Most people need the mental fortitude to use moderation and stop eating sugary junk and consuming empty calories.

I think there are so many different diets out there because what works for me may not work for you.

To answer your "how fast" question, I can lose 1.5lb a day by totally stopping carbs. Baked chicken every meal is not exciting but it works. However, true health is a lifestyle and not a cycle. Once you lose weight you can increase your intake but you can't go back to eating poison foods and stay healthy.

For me, I eat paleo. And I should mention that I'm way too old and cynical to even say Paleo, South Beach, etc with a straight face normally. But I eat a low carb paleo diet and can eat whatever the fuck I want, as much of it as I want, and lose weight. I do work out about 45 mins a day as well doing high intensity interval training. This works great for me and at 50, I still eat what I want as long as it is low carb and high protein. You really can't eat enough baked chicken breast to get fat.

#1 rule - stop drinking soda and other sweetened beverages. Just that will work for 90% of the people wanting to lose some weight. That shit should be sold behind the cigarettes at the store. It's fucking poison.

#2 rule - stop thinking of meals as treats or rewards. Meals need to sustain you, not be delicious. You should be as excited about your next meal as you are your next shit, because that's all it is - a required function for your body.

Every week I eat whatever I want (except soda) for one meal. It's impossible to undo 167 hours of proper eating in one hour, and this is the meal I use when I have to go out with friends to celebrate or something. So I still get pizza, just not every meal anymore lol.

Without knowing you I'd say to meet your goal quickly cut out carbs and start the C25K program along with some weightlifting done for cardio (as in lighter faster more reps). You could realistically lose 20 lbs a month or more safely this way.
