Might be worth getting some pool strips, to test for sodium chloride too.
I havn't used them before though, im sorry.
I cant say whether they'll work or not.

Indeed, nothing will slow growth worse then residual NaCl from ripening on the beach. Cheap coco that is. Canna and others pre-rinse.

Seems to me you were comparing two plants that were two weeks apart in growth. Does make a difference.

You going to use two bloom boosters? Be sure to dial back main nutes so you don't burn them

Sorry for the late reply. I have been super busy as it is that time of the year! I am for sure going to rinse my coco a lot better this goe as i thought i had done it enough before. I was gettinf salt buildup on the outside of my Smart fabric pots even though i was watering with run off. Is this common when using them? And for the booster i only ended up using the one i dialed back my feeding bit by bit as Tim recommended and i think if was a great idea and over all at the end of my flush i was around 180ppm with tap included in that.

UPDATE! The two ladies had finished are dried up and in the curing process as we speak. I was surprised to see that he plant i had topped yeiled quite a bit less than the one i LSTd and even had a week and a half longer. The older lady ended up yielding 4.7 ozs and the other yeilding 10 oz even. With a total 14.7 ozs. Which i am pretty happy with. So close to the LB mark i was shooting for. Thanks for the help everyone offered me on this thread. I greatly apreciate it! Next grow i am thinking 4 plants in my tent and keeping them trimmed up better will be better to deal with in the long run!

Sounds like things are going well. Tim1987 is a coco grower and buys cheap coco...then rinses it himself. He used warm water initially to help all the salt dissolve. Try that.

The phrase salts is a generic chemistry word...but when I refer to salt in coco I mean NaCl (table salt) or more accurately ocean salt.

There are also nutrient salts given off as by product of plant metabolism. Different thing completely and if you're watering to excess (20% runoff) that shouldn't be an issue. And I wouldn't worry about the stuff on outside of bag. Better there then in rootzone, Heh?

Hey dude.

Great to hear harvest went well.
Nice yield too.
I'd personally choose the hard plastic, air pruning pots. Like Rocketpots.
Because the salt just laeches straight through, instead of catching in the fabric.
