Listen to Nspectas episode of the Potcast. They spend a good amount of time talking about the PTK. If I remember correctly a bunch people sent Nspecta what they had as PTK to compare for this project.
Yup. Before Tom Hill dropped off the face of the earth, he told Nspecta that he’d give him all of his remaining PTK stock to do some preservation work with. Unfortunately, Tom Hill disappeared before this happened. So Nspecta asked everyone around that had seeds to send them to him, and in return, he’d send back seeds from a big open pollination.
He’s since run everything he could get his hands on and done at least one open pollination. I don’t know if he ever plans on selling them, but as of now, the only seeds to enter the public were for a charity auction and went for a ton of money.
He’s also done a lot of preservation work with Xmas Bud, so he’s very familiar with that strain as well. When doing his PTK work, he did run Hazeman’s stock. According to him, Hazeman’s stuff is Xmas Bud and not PTK. I think Nspecta even went so far as to determine who Hazeman got the initial seeds from and it was likely a mistake caused by a mislabeling. I know he’s tried to contact Hazeman about it on IG but I don’t know if they ever communicated directly.
And just for the record, Nspecta is one of the most knowledgeable individuals when it comes to older genetics, particularly the NorCal ones. He’s one of the only people to have grown all of the Chemdogs, and was the person who basically verified SkunkVA’s claims when he came back on the scene.
