Powermatic 66 cabinet saw. Easy to adjust now. Did have to take the top off, pull the gear that the worm drive turns, and get pitch off both the worm drive and gear teeth. Hit the lock key in the worm drive shaft with penetrating oil. Put it back together and reassembled the outfield table. Good as new.
Lol, they are related for sure and maybe considered the same thing in some circles. I use the term lapping for water stone sharpening, and stropping I do after that to remove or minimize the burr on the blade tip using a strop and honing compound.

I've worked with powermatics, there is a small door in the front to empty any debris your vacation system doesn't get rid of. There is a small plate that fits around the blade, that is usaully replaced with a piece of quarter inch melamine to minimize blade blow out. Never heard of pulling the top, cabinet saws are generally attached to larger feed out tables and work benches, but you probably knew that. BTW, pro tip, using any kind of oil on wood working tools attracts dust, defeating the purpose of the lubricate, most guys use a silicone based or even graphite lubricants, youre welcome.

The penetrating oil is sprayed into a sealed shaft, no dust in there. You are describing a zero clearance insert. I'll likely make a new set now unless I got lucky.
