AutoPot size and nutrients stupid question

Hello all. Been looking online at the AutoPot systems and I was wondering if anyone here used the autopots 3.9 gal and/or 6.6 (XL) gal ones using coco. What do you guys think? Pros and cons of going with one vice the other? Looking at setting up four in a 5x5 tent size. Also, how do you add nutes? Are they added to the reservoir? Does it not get diluted? How do you measure and add how much is needed? Looking for an easy to grasp explanation. Total newb here.

I'd stick to just one single stain as you mix one solution in the header tank weekly and as we all know each strain like different ppm levels. The plants control the feeding via a float valve type of device. When water is used its automatically replenished so no water schedule required.
For what I've read they can grow some enormous plants. It should be perfect for scrog as the header tank can be stored outside the grow environment. Should be easier to keep the nutrients at a good safe temperature. I've heard using certain nutruents the valves can easily clog so search around for a nutrient that will work.

Im used to using litres as a measure and our gallons are different to US gallons, but I used to use the 15ltr 4 pot systems.

Depends on how many plants your going for, if lots then go for 15ltr or smaller, if few plants go for the big XL ones.

You mix you nutrients and pour into the res, you could mix in the res if you want, its just a big square plastic bucket, or in the case of the bigger systems it a flexible fabric type thing.

There are a couple of things to consider. With the smaller system the tubes can clog after a few grows so its best to upgrade to the bigger tubes and connections.

You should also check the autopot aqua valves and esure you clean them regular because its a tiny hole that allows the unit to refill when its dry, it can clog and if you don't keep an eye on it then you might end up with a plant that doesn't get watered. Easy to check with low plant count, a bit harder if your packing them plants in to a 5x5.

Any yeah use them with coco and two inch of clay pebbles or similar on the bottom of the pot.

2ml per litre of water added to the res. same as any other nutrient, ml per litre unless otherwise stated.

2ml x how many litres you put in your rez so if it's 47l will mean 94 ml. Same goes for nutrients. I'd not put calMag in the rez though. If I seen any calMag problems I'd foliar feed them using 2 litre spray bottle PhD with 4 ml calMag in it.
I'm looking at the 4 pot XL model.

Planning to get spare tubing, airdome and air pump per each pot. Is 4 pot xl in a 5x5 considered packing to near max limit? I need to read more on nutes still not getting it. Getting a little frustrated now lol

You only need one airpump to bubble the rez. Its just to keep oxygen in the water and to keep you nutrients mixed. 4 xl pots in a 5x5 would work great. Just control the growth using your light schedule. 4 pots I'd give 6 weeks veg time then flip to 12/12

Can you go the extra mile and explain this to me? This is going to be my first grow ever. Just wanna make sure I understand how much I’m adding a correctly. I don’t wanna end up frying the plants by adding the wrong amounts. If u use different feeding plan plz feel free to share. Credit to whoever came up with the attachment. Not looking at getting sued lol

I don't use a feed chart mate. I just start with low 1/4 strength nutrients the gradually increase them until I see any adverse effects or nutrient burn then I back them down slightly by removing some of the solution and adding plain tap water. I don't buy into all the ro water bolox. Tap water normally has calcium and magnesium in it so stripping it out by filtering it is kind of counter productive to me. Depending where you live in the world using regular tap water you will not need a calmag solution at all.

I've not bought the autopot system yet but In my dwc I use the vitalink hydro range. In my soil grow I use regular store bought soil and feed only PhD water for the 1st 4 - 5 weeks then I use the ionic bloom nutrients for the remainder of the grow. With nutrients REMEMBER that less is actually more.

4-9 plants in a 5x5 is a good number. I would consider 25 plants really packing it in and 16 plants pretty crowded.
But everyone has their own ideas, a SOG guy could go with 100 plants in 5x5 but obviously not with an autopot system.

As far as nutrients go, nearly all of them have an online calculator telling you how many ml per ltr. Nearly all of them will tell you to put way more in than needed. Just pick a 2 part coco nutrient and keep it simple. Like Esrgood4u said, less is often more. More is often too much and leads to more issues than less.
Why take 7 bottles into the grow room when one or two will do the same thing.

I have mainly used Canna coco range but also used the hydro range and ionic. They all do the same thing, coco nutrients usually have a lower K and higher calcium and magnesium ratio.

I used aqua valves with capillary feeding that was my 1st hydro system, basically a multi version auto pot.
I now use coco with a pump and plumbing running to waste, every morning my ec has raised 4/5 points which gets washed out, with auto pots they never ever get the salt washed out of the system, of course idk that at the time.
I've got a couple of 6ltr auto pots from years back I'm quite sure if use them I'll get build up problems, surely I can't not?

My aim isn't to knock auto pots just understand them?
