Once you realize that the two sides will never agree the sooner you can carry on with your own experiments, just don't expect anyone to give a shit about your results.

The culture today is to shame others into speaking their beliefs even if you
Don't believe them.

Once they get enough people doing it there becomes a perception that there is a bunch of people in their movement. Then of course more people will be buffaloed again.

After all if a majority believes it must be true.

My point?
I don't know.
You tell me, then Ill feel better about
Whatever my opinion is.

Its safer that way.
I dont mind getting jumped for saying how i run my show.

At the same time

Ive always said to try it both ways to see what you like :)

I agree the cure and dry is a HUGE 75% of the process

But the finest connoisseur buds i bet have a little fade to em at least in my opinion

Ok i will voice my point, science advances and one week oatmeal is heart smart, a few years later its the devil.

I have lived through about 3 cycles of that. I don't like oatmeal.

But no one here is a scientist, we listen to scientists and spout that oatmeal is god.

Then those god damn scientist fuck us to death

Again Im not attacking anyone in this thread. In fact im very fond of most posters in this thread.

Its ok to disagree. Much better people than us do it all the time.

I've worked in tobacco fields when I was younger more than I care to remember. At the time, I was very interested in growing MJ, but the farmer (owner in my case) won't tell you shit except where you need to be. I know that they pick the plant from the bottom of the stalk up. It ripens on the plant in stages. The ripe leaves get picked and then that gets cured further. The leaves that are picked are not so much green as they are...limp is the best word I can think of. I'm pretty sure they just throw a bunch of nitrogen at tobacco early on. Those tops get so tall only specialized tractors can drive over them and not every farmer has one of those tractors....They're used mostly for topping not spraying anything.

Like I said I pretty much knew going in to this post what to expect from everyone. It was more or less to see what people did before they harvested so I can get an idea myself. Even though I've read hundreds of responses dating back to 09 on it. But I really do appreciate everyone's input. So.

While i agree we can learn a lot from BIG AG

I have learned in my short 15 years of growing that lots of little things can impact weeds flav and effects

Light spect. Nutrients environment strain

Fuck growing a plant rdwc and dwc i get 2 differnt smell profiles on the same clone with the same everything else

Just ones in rdwc and ones in dwc haha
Was suprising even though the base smell is the same there are subtle differences

While i do respect having a general knowledge of plants and gardening
I have a hard time comparing weed to anything but weed.
Every plant is going to have its sweet spot. Maybe you've only grown MJ inside and nothing else, so you don't have anything to compare it to? Maybe you've done the same outdoors. MJ definitely seems to have a mind of her own, but the whole idea of having a green thumb is being able to read a plant and put a finger on what it needs or doesn't. Some people swear they kill everything and I'm like, yeah, that's what happens when you dump pure fertilizer on any plant.

Ill tell you what I've gleaned from this
There are very well respected growers doing it both ways with great results.
Hence it probably don't matter.
Very liberating

I think we all grow differently. That's what is so wonderfully fascinating about this plant.

Personally I have never owned, or purchased any marijuana cultivation resources.
I have a load of organic vegetable gardening books, and horticultural resources. Because it's where I started, when I was a kid.
Also own 1 book on hydroponics. It's from the 60's and outdoors specific.

In a sense yea, but the topic in my opinion will always be there, even if 100% scientific proof came out proving one side or the other. There will still be people who think otherwise.
Im a logical man show me proof and a real studie and ill definitely read it :)

I would say this

I bet money a bowl that burns to a fine white ash was taken care of the right way

A bowl that burns to a lump of coal or is black, crackles when burned ,doenst stay lit it a joint,
Ect ect was not taken care of the right way :)

Better?

We dont really smoke any other plant besides tobacco so that point is pretty useless.
No, we just EAT them, so obviously there wouldn't be any kind of motivation to find out which grow technique produces higher yields and better flavors for THOSE plants, only the ones we smoke, and only cannabis.

It can go deep.
For me my grandad who was a very
Good grower pre my birth.

He espoused the benefits of growing a certain way. I trusted my source and it payed off. So its hard to let go sometimes of old ideas.
I have an emotional reaction to fucking up my plants, that makes fear
Fear does crazy shit to a man. Lol
