A 55gal "drum" is outta the picture unless your table is higher than it lol.

You need a TOTE like HDX brand from Home Depot that's LOW and WIDE to fit under the tray.

Nothing a bit of plumbing cant fix but yeah totes are easiest and take up less room if they under the tray.

Unless he wanted to get digital timers and RELY on them to have a pump IN the tray to pump out the water as soon as the tray fills, it’s gotta be below it.
