My growing escapades with Bodhi, Greenpoint + some others

Hey all, and welcome to my journal of sorts.
This will start retrospectively, as I'm almost done flowering on my current grow and halfway through vegging for the next.
I'll be trying to keep this short and not rant on too much... :-/
Feel free to drop in with comments etc.
I started my first grow roughly one year ago, and I am currently on my 3rd flowering now, so I'm still learning.

Setup details.
Veg cabinet 4.5x2x2.5 feet.
DIY Led lights (TCI eBay strips) mixture of 3000k & 4000k 69w
Plus vipar UFO 90w (which will be replaced when my new led strips arrive.)
2-3 circulation fans depending on heat, passive intake and exhaust.
This cab is set for 18\6 hours


Flowering tent
4x4x7 tent
DIY Led strips (TCI) 276w
Meizhi 600 250w
4" exhaust fan, carbon filter, 4" intake fan, and 3 clip fans for circulation.
This tent runs 12\12


Medium, is a mixture of potting compost (cheap bag from homebase) perlite and a small amount of Coco. Roughly 60/30/10%ish
I add some mycorrhizal fungi at the begging and mix into the soil. I don't bother adding it to the roots when I up pot... maybe I should.

Nutrients, I used cheap wilko Tomato feed for my first two grows, and it was fine, along with seaweed extract, and some cal/mag.
I am currently using Mills A&B along with some p/k boost during flower and cal/mag when needed. I also add small amounts of molass on every other feed.
I always underfeed my plants, as I'm growing for personal use, I don't need monster 8oz plants. So I try to keep them small-medium size and healthy.
pH sits at around 6.2-6.5 and ppm varies between 300-550 depending on the flowering stage.

So here's where we are at now 6 weeks from seed and about 8 weeks of flowering in the tent.
4 x Bodhi Soulmate (Goji OG Pinesol x Wookie15)
2 x Holy Smokes Strawberry Diesel (NYCD x Strawberry Cough)
I also have flowering in smaller pots,
Chem Toffees, Original Amnesia, Purple Orange CBD, Blueberry Headband and BC Diesel.
All of these plants except Original Amnesia have been pollinated on lower branches with 2 different Soulmate males.

I will endeavour to update this as often as possible, it may be 3-4 times a day or even once a week. I'm that kind of person lol.

My Small scale breeding program.

A quick run down of what I'm doing with breeding/crossing/chucking.

I harvested pollen from two Soulmate males, one similar to pheno A and one similar to pheno B (pics above). Pollen were stored in sealed jars with desiccant in the fridge.

Both types of pollen were applied to lower branches of all 4 soulmate females, using qtips. This seems to have worked well, and I'm hoping to have somewhere around 100 seeds if all has went well.
I also got my two Strawberry Diesels in the same way, looking forward to see what they offer up.

I am currently vegging 6x The Deputys from GPS (Bruce Banner#3 x Stardawg) and I'm hoping to get a decent banner leaning male to collect pollen from. I'll be making f2's, but I also want to pollinate the strawberry diesel with the Deputy. And also maybe hit a Strawberry Cough with some Deputy pollen too. I we'll see

In the veg area The Deputy's are going strong. Looks like a couple of distinct phenos already, we have a couple of larger stretching ones and a couple of short stocky plants.
And obviously then there is the mutant in the front middle lol.

I also have a Cindy XX by Brothers Grimm which I will be mutilating and using for clones.
A Franco's Lemon Cheese (Super Lemon Haze x Exodus Cheese) from Greenhouse Seeds and a Strawberry Cough from Ditch Passion....which is STRETCHY! Haha
At the front right are some clones (taken at week 4 of flower lol) that are revegging.

Looking good. In all things, always keep learning. Are you in Europe? I don’t see any source in the USA for Wilko tomato feed, the price is nice! I might grow my tomatoes with it if I could find it on this side of the pond.

I am newb too, after three years I am still just starting out. I pumped out quite a few harvests in the first two, but in the last year I only had one. At one point I had four stages going perptually, pulling about 12 ounces a month, great fun but a bit more than strictly necessary. I grow mostly for personal use and to give it away to friends, but I was slingin it a bit for a minute. Running a tighter game now, but I love the variety. I think I will keep it down to two stages. Just started a few Greenpoint beans, pretty excited about that gear.

I got almost everything from them for my first grow: pots, soils, perlite, mycorrhizal, intake fans, clip fans, feed, seaweed extract, storage jars. Its a great shop!

My crop due to come down is my 3rd grow in just under a year. I'm trying to get a somewhat perpetual grow growing, but I might dial it back a bit because it is a constant job now. Luckily, I don't have a ''real' job at the moment so I have the time. But like you, my grow is for my own personal use, and to help some friends/family avoid the street dealers. So I can't justify having excessive amounts..aside a from the fact that it's still illegal in UK (it's in the same category as barbiturates, amphetamines and ketamie!) Locally it is becoming more relaxed amongst police, but we're still lightyears away from the states.

I'm trying to run as many of my freebies as I can, but in 1litre pots just to get an Idea of what they are like, it's always good to have a bit variety. And if any of them are exceptional I'll purchase some seeds...less likely to do some now that I've started breeding though haha.

Strawberry Diesel at 8weeks, this doesn't ever seen to be particularly frosty whenever I've grown it, but it is super sweet and tangy. Hopefully it's offspring from the soulmate cross will bring some of that Snowlotus frost to the table, while keeping the tangy sweetness intact.

Surrounded by a sea of decriminalized and/or recreationally legal states while our governor persists in acting like it’s a dangerous drug, despite the vast and mounting evidence to the contrary. The feds still classify it with heroin. Our local cops are also failing to get the message...so I may be in worse shape than you, that way. There’s another state, the worst one, where I beliveve one can still be sentenced to life in prison for distributing the wrong kind of dried flowers. Absolutely inhumane insanity.

I keep it small, and take Gandalf’s advice.

Chopping down some Strawberry Diesels today, will post some pics of the harvest later.
I need to start making room for the Deputy's. Three of which have showed their balls already! Going to just keep the one male for pollen collection this time as I'm short of space. Hopefully the remaining 3 will be females.
Thinking of taking the main colas on the SD and leaving the rest to fatten up for a week, also chopping the Purple Orange CBD and the Chem Toffees.
Desperately need to upgrade my drying facilities, because staging the harvest like this will be tiresome.

I loved the Devil’s Harvest Strawberry Diesel I grew. I hope yours is as good, at least. I pulled 5oz from a Straw D plant with one month of veg, it was a beast. A very tasty beast.

What! Haha that's awesome, I always see people pulling big numbers on here per plant, and wonder if I'm doing something wrong. But for personal use I focus on quality.
I have been increasing yield with every grow, so I'm heading in the right direction.

It wasn’t as dense as I like, but overall it was great, ticked all the boxes. Aroma, taste, yield, bag appeal and high. It was all 5by5, as they say.

Got 10 zoidbergs from 4 plants that run, 600w HPS over one square meter, half of which was the one Straw D plant. Should have kept it, but I got a Bruce Banner 3 cut right after and ran it a few times before I was forced to let her go. It was only slightly better.

Do you have any pics of the Banner you had?
I'm hoping one of my Deputy males could be close to the banner. If I find the right one, I'll be crossing it with a Strawberry Cough and keeping some pollen for a Strawberry Diesel chuck too. I'll probably be attempting Rodelization with SD's as well...far as I understand I just need to leave it to die basically. Trial and error will be at play on this one haha

I was late to the Bodhi party, and looking back at some of his strains that are sold out, I'm gutted haha. Id like to grow out hippy slayer if I could get hold of the beans and some Dank Sinatras would have been fun.
Still looking forward to the Mango Hashplants, only seeing good things from his 88g13hp crosses.
I still have a pack of mountain temple to pop too. Sooo much choice!

Harvested the main colas of both strawberry diesels and left the little lowers to ripen yesterday.
(Forgot to take pics of the plant just before chopping, oops.)
Still have 4 soulmates to harvest and somehow fit into this cupboard over the next 2 weeks too.

Trim is not the prettiest I know, but I don't need it to have 'bag appeal' it's not for sale!

Soulmates, on the left still have a week or so to go. The other two are pretty much ready to come down.



My first attempt at breeding/chucking went better than expected, in fact maybe it went too well.
From two lower branches of a strawberry diesel I got 150 seeds :-/ looks like i'lI have WAY more than I expected or will need! I still have 8 branches of soul mates to collect from and all of the other smaller plants to de-seed (is that the right word).
I decided to name the crosses I was making too. Just for fun, why not eh!

So the Strawberry Diesel X Soulmate will be known as Gasoline Dreams. (Most of the names will have something to do with the group Outkast)
