Woa guys i didnt say anything, about anything really lol.

I was just saying i just bought a cheapie set
For my drying room.

But the message i was trying to get across

Is its better to go bigger where you can IF POSSIBLE.

The REASON i said to OVERSIZE THE FILTER
Is it makes it last longer and is more effective.

If the FAN CFM is MORE then the filters rating
It will cause it to not scrub the air as it goes by too fast....

This is why its best to oversize your FILTER .

Now that being said ... its also nice when possible to use a FAN that is over rated for the room BUT WITH A CONTROLLER
This way you can dial the fan down for noise

But the FILTER MUST AT LEAST.MATCH THE FANS CFM OR GO BEYOND IT (not yelling)

If not. It wont work well.

As to fitting it in your tent .

Um just put it outside the tent ....

If it has to be in the tent then youll have to figure that one out

I have no idea what the purpose is of the bucket idea though i cant get what your doing with it but im kinda baked atm :)

couldn't have said it better.. top to bottom good comment bruh. Personally I went thru a couple cheap fan controllers my first couple grows and the last one got really hot. Someone here suggested getting a variac and its been game on ever since.. well worth the money imo and Ive been recommending them since. Nothing better than having an oversized fan turned down to 30-35v

It creates a vacuum allowing you to suck through the filter rather than pushing through.

phresh filter + hurricane fan

I'd recommend the 4" fan + 4" x 12" filter, if you need to size up go 6" hurricane and appropriate filter. (assumes a 4' x 2' footprint)

If you're in a room like an open bedroom with no tent, you might need a much bigger fan/filter to clean the whole room's airspace.

Uh thats what your suppossed to do anyway

But im a visulal retard haha if you can show me a pic or a drawing ill instantly understand :)

Is the bucket just a form of hard ducting ?

Sorry i have my can directly connected to my inline
No ducting and only a foot of duct on the exit

It has something to do with drag. Like there's less drag if you suck in the filter and through the fan. But if you blow out the filter, the fan has to push the air all the way to the filter and out of the little mesh holes in the filter, which creates more drag. It's just easier for a fan to suck than it is to blow. But I believe if you place the filter too far from the fan and are sucking in the filter, you will also have too much drag.

I see the issue with blowing through the filter as two fold, not only is it harder to blow through but also there is no prefilter so it gets worn out more quickly as well. With the filter inside the bucket I set the whole deal on top of the tent with about 18" of ducting connecting the bucket to the tent and then I am able to retain all the height inside the tent.

If you eliminate the bucket you are left with only being able to blow through the filter if you want it outside of the tent.

Its always better to suck through the filter

But some people flip their filter the push to get another few months out of their filter

Edited due to retardation :)

Correct
Thats been the rule of thumb anyways is its better to pull then push

this is why duct runs are ideally short and straight as possible .

My filter and fan are hooked directly then to a 1 foot HARD ducting out the wall .

Although i think ill be venting out the floor after this last year

Hard ducting lines are great. Luckily my tent is literally right next to a window that i have styrofoam foamed into with a hole cut out of the ducting. So it's just a slight bend, 2 feet of ducting, and out the window.

The floor or the ceiling is great for running your exhaust. I just cant in my house since i have insanely tall ceilings, no attic, and no basement lol. And my windows are fuckin weird. They open sideways but they open outwards. So I cant install an AC window unit and had to use styrofoam for my duct port.
