Winterizing Rosin?

To get a higher THC % by getting rid of plant waxes, lipids, and fats. No ideas are ridiculous!!! Trust me bro, I can get rid of that ethanol w/ ease!

Anytime you can make trash is great for concentrates!

it will simply be a winterized concentrate afterwards. and I thought rosin was the purest most tastiest most stoniest hash ever made? or so I see a lot of people claim. after you winterize you may see a slight increase in overall THC % but nothing to get excited about, unless you are making a really impure extract to begin with.

Nope rosin is tastier with more terps but not more pure THC. When your heat pressing it brings out waxes, lipids, and fats. That's what winterization simply removes, therefor higher %. Guess I'll be getting some rosin and the identical winterized rosin to a lab soon. I bet it increases the THC % quite a bit!

Yo Twitch, you got a lab guy you'd suggest?

Rosin IS solventless, why add a solvent? Makes absolutely NO logical sence. Rosin uses heat and pressure to extract the good stuff. There will be NO waxes or other impurities in the end result.

I can see getting minute waxes from trim, what about keif presses from a dry ice extraction? That's how I'll be doing my.squeezes.

winterizing can remove the waxy shell of the trichome..
of course there are lots of waxes on the leaves and what not, and obviously more so if over ferted (n) that you dont extract.
but all methods solvenless or whatever take the contents of the trichome at minimum.. the plant waxes still melt

if that makes sense

This is something that I have been wondering for a long time.

Winterize or distill...or both. I know ideally both. But if just distilling, then it could keep it's solventless status.
I have never done either, but do my fair share of squishing, and want to go pure'er.

Solventless is great and if you can do just as good(quality and yield). That's the way I want to go. But I also know that hydrocarbon extracts are fine and can be done totally safe and make awesome products. Just not by any joe blow like can be done with rosin...especially flower rosin, which is the most contaminated with waxes and lipids that winterizing removes.

A major issue with bho is legality. Rosin a a way of getting that base crude extract another way.

Just knowing how much waxes and lipids the average rosin contains. I've heard and seen conflicting info.

there will still be waxes..
a little more than dry sift (which also has waxes)
No way brah, the hair straightener magically only extracts the stuff you want not the other stuff with similar properties...but I do think the ideas stupid if your gonna use etoh to clean it up then just make a ethanol extract in the first place, work smarter not harder..or somthing like that

still no lab results back from the winterized and non winterized rosin thc tests? @bez420
inquiring minds want to know.
also where can I get some samples tested at? thc lvls, terpene lvls, other compounds present like molds/mildews and fertilizers and pesticides.

Ethanol extraction is hillbilly wax

If you put bud directly in ethanol u get too much clorophyl, which is why ethanol is used after first blast

THing is with rosin it could be a good idea to make higher THC percentage only you would probably lose taste

If your etoh extract is full of chlorophyll your doing it wrong
