If you say so.

The university of Michigan seems the spectrum complete as well. They are going ahead with single discreet colored diodes to dial in specific crops to improve on it.

So for single lamps cmh wins.

I like it combined with hps for best results in flower. Mostly because it’s underpowered for my purpose.

The exact response from different spectrums is available from u of m.

It is all being tested for big agriculture.

Don’t know what more info you could want.

Except

Growers house has a side by side comparison of many popular cmh bulbs. Phillips wins for par. Ushio for uv.
Glad I use phillips.

OK. Your opinion is your own but it’s obvious you work questions backwards from the solution you want, to find the evidence that supports your preferences. I have read enough of your incessant anti LED positions and worship of cmh over the last few weeks before I re registered. See it all the time in every day life on about any subject. That’s your right. It’s my right to find the ignore function here. I have not been on this site for a couple years and had to re register. Best of luck.

How many boards? Do his boards have WAGO or clips for the wires? Thanks.
Six boards, so they're all at around 50ish watts each. They emit very little heat. The boards themselves have little clips for the wires.

The guy that runs Phantom has sorta shitty customer service, but when he does eventually get back to you, he seems like a solid guy. He included enough Wagos with the order to wire up the driver. Only other thing I had to purchase besides L aluminum was a roll of 18 gauge wire that I picked up from Fry's.

Lol. I have been saying cmh 315’s are too underpowered by themselves in my opinion. And I have not spoken out against led at all. I just mentioned they are the obvious future of indoor agriculture.

Have fun wherever you go.

Nanolux makes a DUAL ENDED 1000w CMH. Needs at least 36 inches from the top of the canopy, or the IR will burn them up in short order.
So is there any info on what this reads in uW/Cm sq reads in the 280-315 nm range @ the range of 36" you suggest? This is a thread on UV not IR but info on IR is always good.

I feel like hps is still numero uno. I mean cmh have had a run but ive not seen anything special, leds have always struggled and when you look at the par lumens mols of hps it aint far off cmh or led.

Yeild wise no new tech has impressed me enough yet or to stop the debate. More hype than actual yeild increase.

This thread is.... interesting.

Friend of mine borrowed a couple of the little vipar 300's I used for flower in a tent in the past. Used them as supp lighting with a 600 HPS in flower. I dunno if I could see any difference as I don't see his grow regularly, but he is pretty convinced that the 2 little lights made a marked improvement over HPS alone. Who knows, maybe it did. It will likely be years of further growing before I'll be solidly experienced enough to be as passionate as some folks are about any particular growing style/method/techniques/equipment.

Except Hempy Buckets lol:bigjoint:

Burples like Vipars can generate more nodes - I have seen it in veg. Mixed with HPS in flower they might be okay but you are better off with 1000 watt HPS if you are using up 1000 watts of electricity.

I think COBs, QB. Samsung strips can match HPS for less heat and electricity. I have no experience with CMH. I will say be very careful with your eyes and skin with CMH or any IR/UVA/UVB also metal halide. You should have eye protection and baseball caps or other hates with a brim for all lights. The caps help shade the eyes. Any sunglasses are better than no sunglasses.

I'd say you're prolly right on the 1k hps. With 600+270=Yep a 1k woulda been better.

You don’t have to. The university of Utah already tested the Phillips cmh and deemed it the best single source for plants.

Checked out that chart and it seems MH takes the win for UVB over CMH. Would it be worth swapping out my HPS for MH the last couple of weeks I wonder? Is that what guys use those 10,000K finishing bulbs for? My 1000W MH is 7200K and I'm not impressed with it's performance as a veg light but if it will juice up my trichs it might be alright. Cheap PlantMax bulbs and I have one in 400W as well.

Yesterday I tried an old SunMaster Warm Deluxe MH bulb I bought 16 years ago and it died after 1 1/2 flower grows. I now suspect it was a bad socket at the time. Been meaning to toss it out but glad I didn't now. Fired right up but sure doesn't seem bright compared to the PlantMax but it shouldn't I guess being more for flowering but with lots of blue so it's good for veg as well. I originally bought it as a flowering light to use with my 1000W MH mag ballast.

I have one of those cheap pH/light/moisture meters I'm using to check the intensity at 1, 2 and 3ft from the center of the bulbs. I know it doesn't really give me any usable data about the quality of the light but it does register intensity so that helps. Going to put the PlantMax back in today to check it and also check my Hortilux conversion bulb in the same ballast. Then use the HPS ballast to see how the EnerG Super HPS rates too. Nice to have choices. :)

Sure you can use a metal halide as a finishing bulb. Many do.

Done the testing on the first 3 bulbs off the MH ballast and think I'll be sticking to the Hortilux Conversion bulb as it blew the others away. The scale on my light tester only goes to 2000 so by moving it back until it hit 2000 I guestimated how far off scale they were.

Bulb 1ft 2ft 3ft

SunMaster Warm Deluxe off scale 2500? 600 450

PlantMax MH 7200K off scale 3500? 1500 700

Hortilux Ultra Ace way off scale 5000? off scale 2500? 1500

Gonna have to try the same experiment with my 400W lights. Hortilux Super HPS, Gavita and a SolarMax.
