Democratic political strategist and CNN contributor Bakari Sellers stuck a fork in Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential ambitions.

The Vermont independent dismissed former President Barack Obama as a charismatic lightweight during a speech in Jackson, Mississippi, on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination.

“The business model, if you like, of the Democratic Party for the last 15 years or so has been a failure,” Sanders said. “People sometimes don’t see that because there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama. He was obviously an extraordinary candidate, brilliant guy.”

Sanders blamed Obama for the Democratic Party’s record number of legislative losses, and Sellers said that attack on the first black U.S. president on that historically significant date should doom Sanders in Democratic primaries.

Y’all can defend Bernie all you want. On #MLK50 his lack of self awareness and arrogance in dismissing #44, is wild.

Bernie in Jackson, Miss.: "The business model, if you like, of the Democratic Party for the last 15 years or so has been a failure.. People sometimes don't see that because there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama." (1/2)
Sanders, who eventually lost his Democratic primary race against Hillary Clinton, was criticized during his presidential campaign for a failure to connect with black voters.

so he decided to switch from Ind to Dem? not a bright guy. no wonder the DNC rigged the primary.
The primary wasn't rigged. Bernie was never going to win. The bots spun that up, and assange helped with doctored emails. Busters bought into it hook, line, and sinker.

They still believe the lies. And even a lot of non-busters believe at least some of the lies.

Liberal blogger horrified to discover she was duped by Russian trolls on Tumblr to help Trump

While Facebook and Twitter have been rightly bashed for providing fertile ground to Russian trolls seeking to influence the 2016 election, Tumblr has largely flown under the radar.

That’s despite the fact that the site now knows it was home to an large and active group of Russian trolls, mainly focused on impersonating black activists to stir long-simmering resentments. The trolls used accounts called things like 4mysquad, postingwhileblack and yanbig.

A woman who ran a popular pro-Hillary Tumblr is now speaking up about her realization for Salon.

“I’ve been doing digital strategy in politics and advocacy for more than 11 years, and what I saw online in 2016 didn’t make sense to me,” she wrote. “Spend more than 10 minutes on any online platform and you got the sense that every American voter thought Hillary Clinton was an evil criminal, something the election results (in which Clinton won the popular vote) didn’t bear out. Hillary Clinton might have been an unpopular candidate, but she wasn’t hated by everyone. It didn’t add up.”

Ryan points out that her posts were averaging 200,000 engagements a week, and she figures she may have reblogged divisive comments that were written by Russian trolls. She definitely had trolls in her comments.

“Essentially, I gave Russian propagandists an outlet,” she writes. “I unknowingly allowed them to use something I’d created online in their active measures campaign. I was duped.”

The most interesting thing about Tumblr, Ryan notes, is that because of the way reblogging works, it’s possible to trace exactly how the trolls operated. Unlike other tech companies that have tried to cover their tracks, Tumblr posted a list of all the accounts it identified and left the chains up intact so people can go back and see what happened and how.

“Tumblr waited too long to inform its users, but I appreciate the way the company did it, especially its decision to provide the list of account names and leaving the chains of reblogged content intact,” Ryan writes.

Of course that came after BuzzFeed revealed that trolls were “running wild” on the site in a story that the company refused to comment upon. In that story, a Brooklyn man who ran an account called alwaysbewoke said that he he was fooled by Russian trolls—and very surprised to learn as much.

“There was actually some nuance to the things they were posting. It wasn’t your run of the mill ‘white people are vile’ kind of stuff. It was far more nuanced than that,” said the man, who described himself as a 35-year-old living in Brooklyn.

Joe Biden tells donors he’ll run in 2020 — but only if then-74-year-old Trump doesn’t drop out: report

Former Vice President Joe Biden is ready to throw his hat into the 2020 president race — but only if President Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, according to a report.

Fox Business correspondent Charles Gasparino reported on Thursday that Biden had told friends on Wall Street that he was preparing for a presidential bid. But according to the sources, Biden will only enter the race if President Donald Trump runs as the GOP pick.

“He’s going to his Wall Street friends/associates, he has a lot of connections there — people that would raise money for him — and saying, ‘Listen, I am seriously considering running for president, but only if one candidate runs,” Gasparino told Fox Business host Neil Cavuto.

Gasparino noted that Biden will be nearly 78 in 2020. Trump will be 74 when the next election occurs.

“He said the age difference between he and Trump is not that great, age won’t be an issue,” the Fox Business reporter explained. “He is actually saying this. He’s going around to Wall Street guys. And by the way, Wall Street guys always liked Biden.”

As long as we are going to have ancient baby boomers vying for the office, I'll put my dime on the square that says Elizabeth Warren. I'd prefer somebody younger, like, say, Harris, Booker, Gillibrand or Jerry Brown (just kidding).

Fix News would love to see Biden run. He is beatable.

Bernie would crush anyone the Republicans could put up.

Bernie is already making the Democratic Party look like Republican lite... including a lot of the 'liberals' on this site.

Gillibrand is a fiscal conservative.

Warren has name recognition and credibility.

Whoever runs best not make the mistake of running too far to the right, else they lose.

I knew before I posted her name that Gillibrand would upset a misogynist because of all her railing against sexual predators. Warren has gotten a lot done unlike Bernie. I'd still rather have a younger person running as the candidate.

He went to the podium in Jackson Mississippi in observance of Martin Luther King's 50th anniversary of his martyrdom for civil rights cause in the US. What did he do? He spent time disrespecting the first black president of the US.

It's this shit that leads me to say that Bernie is not reaching out for votes from people who didn't vote for him the first time. They caused him to lose, actually. It's this shit that leads me to say that Bernie is a very divisive leader. At best what can be said about this is that Bernie has a tin ear when it comes to social equality. What I really think is that Bernie is deliberately running against civil rights issues in the interest of pandering for the votes of racially insecure white voters.

I have to repeat this because it is simply too incredibly tone deaf for a serious contender for the Democratic Party's nomination to do. On the day of and at a rally to observe the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King in Jackson Mississippi, Bernie Sanders spent much of his time disrespecting Barak Obama, the first black president of the United States.

Put a fork in him, he's done.

warren was a republican while hillary was telling china that women's rights are human rights and pushing for universal healthcare
OK

How long ago was that?
Who is Hillary? I forget.

Warren is a former law professor specializing in financial protections.
As Senator, she has a good record in consumer protections laws especially against banks.
She beat fucking Warren Scott Brown
She's only been Senator for a few years so not much opportunity there, unlike Sanders. Her rebuke of Jeff fucking Sessions was spectacular.

If I had to chose between Sanders and Warren, I'd choose Warren ten out of ten times. I do prefer a younger candidate but haven't seen enough to make up my mind which.

How did Sanders "disrespect" Obama?

Bernie Sanders is a corrupt, socialist, giant piece of garbage, and a limp-wristed pussy that didn't even have the balls to defend his own podium from being taken over by 2 obnoxious squawky bitches, and yet morons think that douche can handle being POTUS.

Pathetic.

How did Sanders "disrespect" Obama?
Whether or not he believed Obama was tied to Democratic losses over the fifteen year period he mentioned, the time to say so was not at a town hall meeting held in Jackson Mississippi in observance of the 50th anniversary of MLK's assassination. It might have been OK for, say, a city councilor to say but not somebody who needs to win black votes in Mississippi. Also, Obama still is very popular among many Democrats across this country. Sanders criticism of Obama was divisive to those people. This is why I say that Sanders is a very divisive leader. That speech he made was unnecessarily harsh towards Obama at a time when people were reflecting on the meaning of Martin Luther King's life and especially his death at the hands of white men.
