WTF is with High Tech Garden Supply?

I put in an order when I got home from work last night for some lights, and I got an error of some sort, now when I go to their web site it says my order is being processed, but it doesn't have the extra bulbs I ordered on the order, so I decided to call them this morning.

Ive been trying all morning long, and have gotten noone to answer ever.

Is this place a rip off? Is it a real store or a mom and pop operation in someones garage?

Who doesn't answer their business phone for an entire day?

I'm about to seriously come unglued with worry that they are a fucked up operation.

Anyone got any suggestions?

i think they're busy and cant get to the phones all the time, just leave a message than keep calling every 15-30 min... you should get someone.
i ordered my stuff at 10 am est time, they answered the phone first time i called
then tried to call back later in the day like 5 times to no avail .. but they called me back ... and i had my stuff in 2 days !

Same here. I highly recommend them as well. Never had a problem with orders.

I'm a newer customer and had to return a bulb recently. E-Mails can take much longer than calling. I only called once, after lunch, their time, and Tony answered. As you mentioned, they screwed your order up apparently. At least you were wise enough to order all you think you'll need at once so you can limit the hassles and shipping waits.

I get a feeling this may be a small office w/a warehouse. Pretty small op. Only way to offer such seemingly great deals. I'll deal with them . . . and I'll be sure to use all my warrantees.
Good luck. They're there, just not answering the damn phone. I got an e from them saying that if you get an answering machine, ignore it and call right back.

id do em to if htg were a chic...lol I believe it is a mom and pop operation. Tony has always answered the phone when i call. Products work great and cant beat the prices

I talked to a guy there finally and he got my issues ironed out. I wanted to upgrade my bulb purchase but they where out of stock.

He did as he said though, and put the order in First thing Friday and UPS has it shipping right now.

Yeah, once you get ahold of Tony, he'll always help you out. They are small and very busy. I've had problems getting them on the phone for long periods of time too. But overall I'm happy with them. Seriously though, stay away from the "growbright" crap they sell, nothing but trouble IMO.

Where were you a month ago when I made this mistake? Ain't sayin' it's crap, but the bulb lasted 13 12/12 nights instead of the 8 years it is rated to. Only missed by 7 years and 50 weeks. Now I've ordered 3 so I'll have 2 here while one's (replacement) in transit. I can send them back as many times as HTG wants to replace them. Should guarentee me the brightest lamps at all times.
I read (after I ordered) that Tony himself rates Gro-Brite crap. I wonder why they bother selling junk that results in nothing but upset customers and returns?
Like I said, I got nothin' better to do that ship bulbs back and forth.

I'm assuming Gro-Brite is the cheapest stuff they sell. If he didn't sell cheap stuff people would skim over the website and say his prices are too high and move on so by having the cheap crap people will stick around. Seems like everyone wants cheap crap, how many posts do you see where it says "are there any cheaper seeds than Nirvana ?" or "Are there any cheaper lights than this ?" People just want cheap crap instead of quality...............

If you want you can try HIDHUT.COM I have had no trouble with their digital ballasts and they've been running over a year now. $139 for a 400 watt setup. People will say no that HTG is cheaper but the only kits I find cheaper on HTG are the magnetic ones so if you can point out the whole kit with digital ballasts cheaper than that, point me to the link.

a hps that lasts 8 years??? somthin sounds fishy Mr.,,, i don't think it's them it's the product i,d ask for a quality bulb and just replace it every once in awhile.. :peace:

It's actually a physical store that serves quite a big area as well as the internet. I frequent the physical location (as i live close) store and buy my supplies there. I guess I'm a little freaked out by buying supplies online or off ebay. I know the guy who works there. His name is CJ and he'll do anything to make it right. He also knows a ton about growing. That's where I get a lot of my information and or questions answered, so if anyone thinks I'm telling a lie, take it up with CJ...LOL. I think there is a Tony as well, but CJ is the main guy and he will set you up. He's given me discounts before when I didn't have enough money. I came in there just to buy one thing, but he sold me on something else, but I was short, so he gave me the discount because I was spending more than I had originally intended to. HTG is also very cheap compared to other places, IMO. My HPS bulb broke within a month, and he exchanged it out for a new one. Nothing but praise for these guys.:clap::clap::clap:

I don't know, all I here is this broke and that broke but they made it right. I'm glad they made it right but I'd rather buy stuff that is going to last longer than a month.

Maybe I'm alone but I'd rather have something that works vs my bulb blew up Sunday night but I know they will make it right.
