They moved in on the warm front in Feb.. They come sooner and sooner evey year.. Which i dont like.. Kinds scares me... Weather is def changed since i was young... But i still love seeing the birdies... Is like a rescuers voice from the hell that iels winter lol... Im worried about them coming early like that then nkt being abke to survive when the crazy weather gets cold again like it has... I went into town the other day and j thought i seen a big group of black birds on a basketball court.. But when i got close it was about 60 robins ...playing w each other and looking for food in the snow..

We still have Juncos and Chickadees in our yard- they're both winter birds. I have seen a couple of Robins though.
I live a couple hundred yards from a huge Canada Goose wintering area, there are literally thousands of them- they fly right over my house, it's pretty awesome
The temp has gone down to 38 and now it's spitting some sleet, the snow level is down to 1,000ft and we're at 550 here

Where they mess up is if the bugs come early, but the birds are still on the old schedule. Nothing to eat the bugs when they come out, then nothing for the birds to eat when they arrive.

It was cool again this morning. Warmed up though. I came into work early, but was able to meet the wife for lunch. We walked about a mile on the town's rails to trails footpath after we ate.

Sister made it home from Denver. She did take time to go down to Hatch New Mexico, so I have a good supply of Chile seeds now. She also brought me some of the 10mg THC Green Hornet gummies. Those won't last as long as the pepper seeds.

A really nice spring day here today. I got in the garden and did a little high speed planting before work. At 1655 it's sunny, 76F with 35% humidity. Forecast high/low of 79/62F with 10% chance of rain tonight. 10 day high/low 82/49F with two half days of possible rain.
Today and tomorrow are good above ground planting days, so if you are snow free, you might think about planting.

Not too bad here for end of March. Started some tomato and annual seeds indoors for outdoor planting about end of May. Saw a few robins

Spring came early here, too. It's also unseasonably dry.
70 degrees and a lovely day to walk my dog around City Park lake so I can ogle the college girls.

I'm not overly religious, but in light of all the ways to feed babies, I'm glad the Good Lord decided to make us mammals. On nice sunny Spring days, especially.

We get a large percentage of our annual precipitation in March and April, mostly as snow. It's been very warm, and therefore very dry so far.

kinda like the old saying April Showers Bring May Flowers... Well i dont really go by that here anymore.... We use to get what i pretty much thought of as our "base" precipitation throughout the year from all the snow melting off and keeping the ground saturated... Well for one we dont get near the snow we use to.. Or the rain... Makes for some scarily dry creeks and low rivers....it can flood here one day..stop raining and the next day the water is still high.. The next day it is a little to high to fish... The day after that the fishing is perfect.. Next day its getting low... ..that isnt right... It use to rain and fill up the creeks and the the fishing was good for four or five days..and even after that it took a week or so before it got really low... And still not as low as it gets now.. In the past 2 years iv seen creeks that have NEVER ran dry do just that.. Shit scares me tbh

Less snow means less buffer. The ground gets dry and doesn't hold water as well, allowing rains to run off instead of soaking in. It's a bad cycle that portends poorly for the future.
Global warming and other events of shortsighted human activity is going to be the end of us if we don't chain the corporatocracy and put it on a short leash.

Was a cool damp morning in Larry Land. I stayed at the camp, and it wasn't really cold last night. This morning I worked in the yard, and I had on jacket and gloves. Go figure.
