Been in tents years and never needed one.
That's true for the most part. However, due to noise constraints, I have only a 4" 190CFM Vivosun fan unit exhausting which really didn't suck much air out (32x32x62" tent). So, I added a $2.99 Antec 120mm pc fan with 3 speed controller that I cinched into the bottom intake vent hood. Minimal noise and runs off a 5v DC phone charger transformer.

I really wonder why I ever bought a separate Vivosun 4" intake fan unit in the first place (ducted to partially opened window). Total overkill. I was new to growing and thought that was the way to go (it ended up just adding additional unnecessary noise to my quiet stealth grow). The plant thrived with the air from a side sliding window cracked open 4" to accommodate the 4" exhaust duct. I just bought a sheet of plexiglass so as to block the opened window above the duct during cold nights. Lesson learned (among many).

You should add TDS meter if growing in hydro! Also, I have found that having syringes and small cups in a variety of sizes is realy handy for measuring out my nutes!

I have found that having syringes...
I bought a large $5.99 syringe to draw up drained out water from my drip pan. Keeps flies away. They seem to develop at the bottom of pots if you let drainage water sit there.

I had white flies for awhile due to this. No big deal. I hung a few sticky fly coils and they all jumped on board by the next day.

I bought a big one for $5.99 to suck up excess waterings at my drip pan.
I wouldn’t be using a syring for that - no matter how big it is! I’d use a shop vac or a liquid transfer pump!
And I said I liked having a variety of syring sizes for MEASURING NUTES

Ah, okay. I'm small time.
Shop vac?

Okle dokie. Added to the list of simple essentials !
Well I suppose you could just dump the water out of the saucers, but I guess that's kind of low-tech :blsmoke:

.. Had a Shop-Vac on my list when I started growing again several years ago, but I still haven't needed to purchase it

Edit::idea::arrow: I can see how some screen growers could probably use one, heres a couple for the list

* 9" high velocity floor fans
* Humidifier
* Dehumidifier

A turkey baster works well for sucking the water out of the trays.

And I second the probe style cheap moisture meter. It’s good to see the readings lower in the pot to get a better feel for proper watering in potting soil. It should read in the dry zone 3/4 the way down before watering.

Many common problems here are merely overwatering.

The only thing you need to grow is a seed or a clone. Dig a hole in the ground, plant it, let it grow. Might not end up with the best result but that's all that's really needed.
