Hope it's not annoying if I post pictures every 3 or 4 days for a couple of weeks.
Having fun and could probably post everyday lol.

I put seeds in paper towels 2-14-18. they had 1/2" tails on the 19th and peeked out of the soil 2-21-18.
I start counting days from when they peeked on 2-21-18 right?
If it is then they are 6 days old.

The 1st time I watered I had a problem with to much run off.
I watered plant # 2 for the second time and still struggled to avoid to much run off.
I usually do not worry about it with seedlings because a small cup or pot is just a temporary home.
My soil is draining really fast and it is hard to water from the top without getting to much so yesterday I tried watering from the bottom. I left the pot sitting in a bowl of water for about 20-30 minutes. It wicked some water up and then after removing it from the bowl I gave it a light watering from the top to get the upper soil moist with minor runoff. I think I'll be watering that way for a while.

Light on 3:45 am, off 3:45 pm.

I have my 400w mh about 18" away from them now and may bring it a couple inches closer in time.
Changed my 8" duct and saw how gross my inline fan was. Took a picture of the inside but don't think I'll show that one lol. Should have been cleaned a while ago.

That was day 6.

They went through some heat or light stress IDK in the last 3 days.
The day of that picture I moved the 400w mh 18" from the seedlings and they were not happy. Finally settled on 23" for now.
Been keeping the soil moist and I'm going to let the soils dry out some before the next watering.

This is day 9. I am hoping the new growth will come in looking good.

Just some growing pains lol.

Good afternoon over in these parts. Rocking at 74f 60%rh this morning. Warming itself up to around 80f soon and about 45-50%rh. Been about 65f during lights out. Office hours are from 7:30am to 7:30pm
new sprout popped. Waiting 4 her to spread her wings

I had to add a ultrasonic mister as my humidity was sitting at 16%.... I will be removing it next week when my whole house humidifier gets delivered, but this should help keep it at 40-ish percent until then.

Side note, I added some lids under my cups to raise them up and make sure they don't get the equiv of sub irrigation from the overflow of the humidifier.

I grabbed these little ass "cups " from a Chinese buffet the other day.
They serve a mousse in them and thought they were cool. I pinched 4 for seed use.
I just sprayed lightly with water and POOF got a germed seed. I parked on my direct tv box for warmth.

Out of 5 seeds started. Only one germinated. Was easy to find the 4 ungerminated seeds. That's why I like peat pucks.

So, unfortunately I only have one to select out of 5, one lone survivor .
Looks like I'm disqualified, can't follow the rules of the contest.
But, I will keep her going to the end. For fun

It doesn't say in the rules that you need to have 5 sprout. It says you can have up to 5. You could have started with 1 from the beginning and been fully within the rules.

Looks healthy. All of us have to choose one plant to flower at some point so we will all have one plant in the game in a few weeks. Should get interesting at that point.
You are not alone. I think one player in one of the comps started just one seed, another player in the other comp had 5 seedlings then his cat ate 4 of his 5 seedlings, at least he is in with the one.

My greatest fear at this stage is not damping off, it's this guy, he loves the tasty little seedlings at this stage.
It reminded me to keep them safely on a table. He'll only munch on them if they are on the floor and accessible.
