I think it has to do with a combination of the state the trichromes were in at harvest and how much light exposure it has between harvest time to moment of consumption.It’s just a red tint ISO oil.
I’ve had it happen a couple times ,
I think it’s strain related, Or maybe the plant was picked late n the trichomes turned more amber.
If you desire to have red oil, every time:
quick wash w/ iso/IPA
filter into glass/pyrex dish
Put pyrex dish in the sun and allow to evaporate on it's own.
(If you put it outside cover with a clean window screen so nothing falls in. Or put it inside next to open window w/sunlight)
Light degrades the thc just enough to turn the oil red.
