Chm vs led in 4x4 and lighting suggestions

Looking to start up my 4x4 when I move into a new house and am looking for opinion on my new tent. I was stuck on led because I like the results I have gotten in the past and it was easy to control heat. Think I am looking for a true 600+ watts from the wall. I would like to hear pros and cons of both lights and suggestions on what to run. I' prefer to get one of the newer "white" light led and get the latest tech. Or suggestion on cmh. The single 630 or (2) 315 watt cmh. Was looking at the sun system diamond 630 and like how it is low profile and may get me a few inchs to play with as my tent is 6.5' not 7'. For any that don' know this the sun hut is not a true 4x4 more like 4.7x4.7x6.5. I plan on buying in a week or so maybe 2 and would like to keep it $800 or less on the light. Would be set up with sun hut 4x4, hurricane 6" 435cfm and a 16" 400cfm phresh carbon filter. 4 plants 7gal ffof with 35% perlite or fox farm coco. I have not decided on medium yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time

If you're just getting into growing then just get 600 HID and you can always upgrade later. You may later feel that its more of a chore than anything. Go look at local ads and I'm sure you will be able to find barely used grow kits for cheap.

If you have the ability to remove the heat from either an HID or CMH rig, then that would be the most cost-effective solution. To adequately cover that space with current tech led should be around 600w. Unless you're willing/able to DIY, I don't know of any commercially available units in your budget range. If you think that making a fixture for your space is do-able, then using strips/boards or cobs is possible. Plenty of examples out there costing under 1$/watt.

Someone here suggested this the other day. I beliee this to be ok for the foot print I need. I have many 400, 600 and a few 1000 watt grows under mh/hps and quite a few under an old kind led I had a few years ago. It has been a while since I was in the game so to speak and just want to try something more effeciant than the golden standard mh/hps. I enjoy new tech and always willing to try somthing new. Led/Lec is just where I feel I should be moving into as new tech advances. Also was told that the heat of cmh is not as bad as hps is this accurate? It was harder in the summer with 600/1000 hps and never an issue in fall or winter. I am by no means a master but alot of the people here have helped me finish crops with great success in the past so I figure lots of you all prob know what is working best in the lighting department. When I ever get going I do plan on a journal this time around. Thank you ALL for your contribution to my thread and keep the wisdom coming my way. Also does anyone use go green led? Would (2) of there 300watt cob fixtures work well in my space? I think the cobs may be outdated by my reserch but ill still ask... thanks in advance.

cobs are best but as stated above if you cant build it yourself then one ready to plug in is out of the price range. I like the 630 de cmh, it is cooler that a 1000w hps abought the same heat as a 600w hps. If summer heat is an issue.... I dont know if anyone else has one but hydrogardens and lights in ohio has there own brand of lights and they have a 315 cmh in a cool tube reflecter for under 300. With the cool tube a 315 has less heat than a 300w florecent

Fluence SPYDRx Plus 685W LED Grow Light. Maybe this is what I am looking for? Anyone running these have feedback for me... it' not 800 but 1500 but I'm told these are very good and about the best you can buy as of right now...

Spyder is the best of the best when it comes to blurple leds. Better that platnum, black dog, claifornia lightworks, all of them!
Still its just a blurple led. Better than hps, not as good as cmh or cob. If your going to drop 1500 get a cob

Think on this though cob is best but not but much over a cmh and the difference in price is 1000 bucks. 550W cree cob replaces a 1000w hps as in umole/second/watt. The 630 cmh does the same job for only 80 more watts with nearly the same spectrium. 80 wats more is only like 5.00 or 10.00 a month. This means you will have replaced the fixture before it can save you the difference in price

Lastly it can be argued that the cob will also save on cooling... True and false...
If your only running one 630 or 500w cob you shouldnt need to do anything extra to cool them besides an air exchange if you are in a tent or other non sealed enviroment. I ran a 630 in a 4.5x4.5 tent in my bed room and the area never got over 84 even in mid summer
Now if your running multiple lights then maby the cob will pay for its self over a cmh after a few years but i cant say for sure as i have no experience with more than 1 flower light

The new spider is white light far as I know...i want no blurple led!!! Any suggestions on led? I' starting to think the spider plus may be worth the $1500 long term and perfect size for my 4x4 sun hut "big easy".

Had to look it up. Only been to there site once since they merged with fluience. Yep white light now but it dosnt look like a cob

I think they use small cobs and maybe 5050 diodes but that's just a guess. The lumiled 5050 diode is pretty good.

Maby but i dont think so. Saw a bunch of links to spyderx led compared to cobs
Who compares cobs to cobs lol like apples and apples

The 1500 you’ll spend you can get two of the 600h setup and do better.

I am back and forth on cmh or led... Anyone have any cob that will match the spyder x plus... timber maybe??? But what one..
