My understanding is you need a Jewish mother, or need to convert to be in the tribe. True? Is there any less orthodox branch of Judaism that gives status through marriage without converting?

I was showing Deasert dude a meme he had posted in another thread specifically to point out how offensive it was. All those guys even knew exactly how I would argue, it wasn't my meme to post as a point to make. I went on in that thread to argue against a bunch of bigotry. I'm also not the one chasing down GWN, but look how I continued to argue in the thread even years ago.

Yeah sure, it can be. Maybe I did offend someone by posting it and I would own that and apologize, not double down. It certainly does not encapsulate my views or arguments, so I wouldn't defend it. If someone even says something like "more is expected of me at work because I'm a white guy", they could grow out of it and live it down, as long as they don't continue to double down on it and get defensive about it. Anyone who spreads bigotry like that should be confronted because that is a chance to disavow it. Those guys in that thread were on a different trip though, especially the guy I was responding to. He was actually defending the institution of chattel slavery.
