I kept meticulous notes when I started indoors ...... Now not so much lolI forget to write down start dates sometimes. I just use a 100x scope.

Lol, a know it all of nothing.. So when you pull the 12/12 switch flowers appear magically.. quit listening to other stupid people! Even though this thread is over 5 year old I had to respondflowering begins from the day you switch the lights to 12/12...case closed....who the fuck would count from when u see pistels???.... your already 2-3 weeks into flowering when you see pistels... so whats it called when you switch the lights to 12/12?....pre-flower stage??? LOL...when you take into account how long a plants flowering stage is you should include every aspect; the stretch, how long it takes to show signs, how long till harvest, everything... i had an LA CHEESE last grow that showed signs of sex the day after i went 12/12 but flowered as long as the blue venom and other strains...i guess its up to the grower when you consider flowering to start but if your having a conversation about flowering and you start talking about flowering the day you seen pistels ur gonna sound like a full on rookie...
Everyone wants their buds in the shortest amount of time, right!? Breeders are in business to make $money$, it's all about marketing!Breeders count from the start of 12/12.
Your inexperience is showing. We who grow know the truth.Lol, a know it all of nothing.. So when you pull the 12/12 switch flowers appear magically.. quit listening to other stupid people! Even though this thread is over 5 year old I had to respond
Following a week by week chart is gonna get you nothing but fried plants. Let the plants tell you how long they have left not a fertilizer bottle or calendar. Nute companies have no idea what you're growing so how could they tell you how long and at what strength to feed?A plant may be done when its done, but many fertilizers go by week count, and stopping so long before harvest.... Hence reason for needing to knowing how long you have left in flower.
The "weekly" portion of a feeding schedule is more like training wheels for new growers, it can cause some confusion when your strain runs longer than the chart which is why we dont really pay attention to that.A plant may be done when its done, but many fertilizers go by week count, and stopping so long before harvest.... Hence reason for needing to knowing how long you have left in flower.
Yep for me when I see pistils OR ...a week after initiation...I was wondering how do you count the flowering days.
Do you count from 12/12 switch from 18/6
Or
Do you start counting flowering days when you first see pistils?
I always have started counting the flowering period from when I see the first pistils, however I recently have seen a few people counting flowering period from when they switch from 18/6 to 12/12.
see I figured if I switch from 18/6 to 12/12 then it takes a further 10 days for the plant to show sex and I counted them days as the flowering period, that means I could harvest 10 days early as I counted them 10 days as flowering perid, just when the plant will put its weight on in the last 2 weeks.
I hope that makes sense.
Please Feel free to contribute to the thread & leave comments.

So whats your flowering time then...?Yep for me when I see pistils OR ...a week after initiation...
From when you call the start of flowering till the end, or pistils to harvest.. ?12/12...
Is that what you mean by flowering time or how long does it stay in flower before I harvest?
12 hours of light, 12 hours of darkness; ergo, your light timing signature.12/12...

Yeah me too. and trying to learn what’s best as well. Start of flowering technically when I switch to 12/12, but I don’t start counting until a week after I switch. It’s more of a personal thing to give the plant time to adjust to the new time settings which I believe takes about 3-7 days for a plant to actually start showing signs of being flowering mode. From when you call the start of flowering till the end, or pistils to harvest.. ?
Just making conversation no big deal
Sounds about right time wise, for me it takes two weeks to show pistils at bud sites and then a futher 7 to get to harvest or close. Overall 9-10 weeks from start of 12/12.Yeah me too. and trying to learn what’s best as well. It also I believe is strain dependent as it is with something like fimming/topping plants that don’t want to be topped or fimmed. Each plant will be ready for harvest at different times. The photos I’m running now say 45-50 days so I’ll start checking trichs around that time and expect to add on another week or two or more depending obviously on the growers preference as to where they like their trichs to be at in terms of maturity.
