I mean if I gotta use dirt I got no problem with that but if you can have a bubbler inside the cup I don't see why you can't have a small tube on the drain hole. Still a 1/4 in hole technically and it's all inside the cup.

i'm doing hydro, with no airstone, no air pump.

my water should be oxygenated enough for roots to set in it for 12 hours taking up nutes. then 12 off in the dry.

should work.

the more i think about this, gonna have to water more than once a day prolly.

A lot of talk of cup designs here, but what is everyone thinking about strains? Any early ideas?

I don't want to grow anything I think I should take a clone of, in case of extreme dank, since I will lose valuable days waiting for it to bounce back after a cutting is taken. I also don't want to grow out more than one seed for this competition, so that kinda rules out regulars or bagseed.

I have a couple different OGs I could run, maybe a skunk variety. Im thinking something more in the sativa family, to maximize stretch. However, a beautiful, chunky kush, or something with some color, might be a more attractive plant to look at.

there was some talk earlier about doing sativas.

I am doing either Larry OG (beacause I have a bunch left over), or northern lights. The Northern I have, has some awesome color changes.

started looking through my seeds that lean mostly sativa to full blown sativa.

might consider a strain or two here. most seeds are 4+ years old however.

Cherry Zephyr - The Bank (these are new and will pop for sure)
Chrystal Tsunami - Ingemar Seeds
Columbian X - Craxy X Seeds
Haze/Skunk#1 Lucky Dip- Sam the Skunkman
Maui Wowie - Nirvana
Eldorado - Sativa Seed Bank

i also have a killer mix i am trying to stabilize. i call it Sour Wreck. (trainwreck x sour diesel).

i backcrossed it, so the seeds i would pop are ((trainwreck x sour d) x sour d)

so many choices :cuss:
