First time grow, week 2 veg

going to buy some more perlite later, gonna give it about a week before i mess with her again. Plan on transplanting to a 5 gallon bucket with a 1/4 inch hole drilled in the bottom because I’m definitely going to need more space for root growth (i have an old bottle of roottone from when my dad used to grow) also thinking about buying a bag of Fox Farms soil

You still better off mixing 20% to 25% perlite in with that soil for better drainage-aireation.

it protects to roots from root rot and has a growth accelerator in it i believe, just to make sure everything that isn’t visible stays how it’s supposed to.
Haven't killed any plant in years, whether that was flowers, peppers, tomatoes, whatever, the nearest you would get to a plant dying when not expected was when my oldest cat developed a taste for a small olive bush we had and stripped the bugger bare. I use methods that have been tried and tested by myself and others for decades, and no plant of mine has ever died off unexpectedly, not even when I was stuck in hospital for 9 days.
Now, that's the easy bit. Getting a good yield is not so easy, and that's the bit where I admit I'm still learning which is why I say I'm getting a basic system working and then I worry about the "fine tuning" to increase things more. Have I made mistakes? Yes, but you don't learn shit if you don't make mistakes and if I can help someone NOT make the fuckups I did then I would say it's better to admit these faults and pass on what little experience I have so the more experienced can pass on the more "technical" stuff when necessary.
And if you think I have no "game plan" then you don't know how much time I spent looking at the likes of growweedeasy and Ilovegrowingmarijuana, how long I spent looking at what was said on assorted forums, and so on.
So wind your neck in, because you know shit about me or what I know or how quickly I can learn things.
That's good to know because, basically, the rooting powder I used in the past is banned over here now so it's nice to know there's a substitute I can pick up as the people in a local garden centre could not suggest an alternative.

If I had it all down then it would be dead and not producing flowers.
Of course, if it wasn't for advice in a thread on this very forum I wouldn't have thought about doing such a thing, I guess I should rip everything out and do nothing until I've read every single thing about growing that exists on the internet....
The "I love growing marijuana" one, Robert Bergman's, seen others saying it's a decent one.
Biggest issue with me has been good old light, and me trying to do things too cheaply and not realising that I needed a hell of a lot more than I had with the first plant did hurt (and the vacation in hospital, a double kick in the nuts, you could say). Second one was always going to be dodgy as I was experimenting with a self-made grow light, I realise the mistake I made so made another light with substantially more power which is above my third plant, now I'm planning an improved version "just in case".
At this moment, as I say, I'm taking baby steps as it's impossible to justify the costs of some of these commercial builds to the missus since income is restricted thanks to me being broken, and since I can't work growing has turned into a hobby just now with the view of making incremental improvements whilst keeping me occupied.
