Pot specifics question

With regards to stealth closer grows does type of pot matter ? Ie pots with drainage holes or not ? Cors but what I'm thinking the sealed ones would be better in that the pots would store the water for a bit longer so that I would not have to water as much due to the amount of the light the plants will be getting ,,, just a thort a bit lit lol

I take it that's so the plant isn't prone to getting root rot right ? Was thinking of getting those rectangular style pots instead of the round ones so I can lst it better

weed likes a lot of water, but it also like a lot of air in its roots. the trick is getting both at the same time. theres also the problem of nutrient salts building up in your pots if you don't have adequate drainage.
i would suggest you look into hempy buckets. they're my preferred growing style. the original uses 100% perlite, but i run 70% perlite, 30% pro-mix. i only need to water about every three days, and they drain into a pan. empty the pan and you're done for another 3 or 4 days.
i run 10 gallon totes, but you can run anything down to about 3 gallon and get good results. for the big ones i use an elbow and a piece of hose to keep them from draining till i want them to, just tip the elbow down into the drain pan. the smaller ones i just sit in a dish tub when i water, leave them there till they quit draining, then dump the dish tub.

the area below the drain acts as a reservoir, they call this a hybrid form of hydroponics, you get much faster growth than plain soil, not as good as DWC, but its a lot more stable than DWC, much less chance of catastrophic crop failure in hempy buckets

I just thort of a sick idea, instead of the L bend I'll use one of those plastic taps they put on 20l buckets I'll, force that into pot then use it at a open and close valve , to drain cors I haven't seen hempy pots here where I stay

if you use the elbows, don't go cheap. get the good fat grommets and elbows, the grommets stop them from leaking, where the cheap ones won't, and the good elbows don't clog up inside. i used cheap elbows once and killed a plant, it plugged up and drowned the plant, and i didn't notice as i was draining multiple pots into the same pan

be careful what you pick as a container, some of them can take some abuse, some of them will split if you try to force stuff into them. i'd suggest getting a bulkhead tap, they don't rely on friction, the back half is threaded, you put a rubber washer and a nut on it to tighten it up.

Yes that's the one I was thinking about so then wat ? I just water till I see it's super wet let it sit for maybe like 10-15 mins then drain ? Or do I just water and let it drain till it stops then close the valve ?

you're filling the reservoir in the bottom of the pot, and forcing a little of the old nutrient out, keeping the old salts from building up, and oxygenating the root zone. so you want to open the drain, then water till you see it start to come out of the drain. thats usually enough, once you see it start, it'll continue to drain for a while as the water settles in the pot, drawing air in behind itself. the res part of my big pots is about 2 gallons, i like to get about half a gallon of run off, to make sure its not getting stale.
then you can close the valve to prevent any more run off or spillage if you move the pots around.
