Ok, i just thought i would break it down for some of the people who are thinking about upgrading their space to something that will allow them to grow a few more plants than what they are growin right now. Alot of the stuff im gonna list off is the cheapest i can possibly find it, so bare with me if you think that going cheap vs going for quality is wrong, but personally speaking on behalf of the broke population, sometimes cheap is the best way to go.

Heres a list of a COMPLETE setup for under $500. Ill post links at the bottom of this post so you can check the items out for yourselves.

2x4x5 hydrohut grow tent -$69.95
Complete basic 600w HPS+MH light setup - $114.95
ELF carbon filter w/o fan - $49.95
2 4" basic exhaust fans(one for filter exhaust, one for air intake) - $19.95 each
Clip on oscalating fan - $19.95 each
Upgrade reflector to air coolable unit - $85.00
6" basic fan for air coolable light reflector- $19.95

This is not including nutrients, growbags, soil, ect. But this is the basic setup thats gonna end up costing you the most money if your decking everything out at once. Just tryin to keep a lil extra change in your pockets.

Heres the links:

Grow Tent - 2x4x5 FT HYDROPONICS GROW TENT HYDRO BOX HUT CABINET BL - eBay (item 260292694468 end time Oct-01-08 16:40:57 PDT)

600w lighting system - OPEN REFLECTOR GROW LIGHT 600 WATT HPS+MH 600W - eBay (item 380067810673 end time Oct-06-08 11:43:28 PDT)

Carbon Filter - 4 X 12 inch CARBON AIR FILTER scrubber four grow light - eBay (item 180288560272 end time Oct-06-08 13:00:00 PDT)

4" inline fans - High Tech Garden Supply

6" inline fan - High Tech Garden Supply

Upgrading your hood to air coolable - High Tech Garden Supply (or go cooltube for ten bucks more)

6" circulating fans - grab a couple to keep air moving at all times - High Tech Garden Supply

Now, like i said, this is the cheapest complete setup i can find for anyone looking to hook up their own growroom from top to bottom. I havent included meters, thermometers hydrometers or anything like that, just the raw essentials for a setup, n you can add from there.

I hope this helped a couple people out, n maybe put a couple extra bucks back into peoples pockets.

You might want to check on this item with the seller because I'm pretty sure it does not include a ballast.

There's no ballast in the pic and it says "

and if you go a little lower, it will say this kit includes all of that plus a 600w digital electronic ballast. I talked to the seller already. Its legit and it includes everything. The reflector is a piece of shit though. getting a euro inline air coolable unit.

i would just like to add that those 4 and 6 inch inline fans are not what they're cracked up to be. that 6 inch says it's 250 cfm, but it only moves 125 cfm, it can just handle 250 cfm as a booster fan in a duct system.

for a very small grow cabinet, those will work fine. but if you're trying to grow in a tent, closet, or a full-size room, you will definitely need to upgrade to a centrifugal inline fan.

i speak from experience. i have a 3x3x6.5 hydrohut and i have had at one time 3 of those inline fans from the big orange hardware store. they do nothing to help with temps, no matter what configuration i used. i was even using them to vent my cooltube with no luck at all. i'm finally upgrading to a nice centrifugal fan, hopefully it gets here next week.

this is good stuff to start on, but trust me, you'll be upgrading later :)

in a 4x4x5 space i'd put a plant every 18-20" and my new setup that i am gonig to run has about an 8 foot ceiling.. i'm growing in a 4x4x8 and i'll have 9 plants 6'tall

I was going to go with a 6" Vortex fan (449 cfm) instead.
6" VORTEX INLINE FAN DUCT EXHAUST BLOWER HYDROPONIC - (eBay.ca item 120311715758 end time 06-Oct-08 17:17:15 EDT)

Do you think if I used it to air cool a 600 watt HPS as well as exhaust air from a 4' X 4' grow tent I could get away with just the one fan? Could I keep the temperature down or do I need another exhaust fan?

ill be throwin 10-12 plants in my space - i know itll be cramped as fuck, but itll work out im sure. As far as those cheap fans go, i know they aint the best, and believe me i know that quality is worth the money, but all the stuff im listing is shit im buyin on a budget unfortunately. Im upgrading my reflector, and makin a couple adjustments, but if i wanned quality on the inlines i would be spendin out the ass for 3 vortex fans - 1 for filter exhaust, one for air intake n one for my inline reflector. Thats 150 a piece lowballin it. breakin me like a motherfucker, lol. U got any suggestions on suitable alternatives???

O n u think 10 or 12 plants in a 2x4x5 space is pushin it?? I figure 3 gal growbags that are 7 or 8 inches wide, could fit 6 in a row, n just do two rows. but 5 would probably be a better bet so i can leave breathing room huh?

Alot of that crap, is made in China.
It's crap, it doesn't last as long as the other leading brands do.

I'm a firm believer that anything that sounds too good to be true,
probably is'nt.
Plus, I also believe, that you get what you pay for.

I've been doing tons of research on home and garden equipment and hydroponic supplies.
I'm thinking of opening up my own store in the next couple of years.
Alot of these people on Ebay that sell that crap are just trying to get rid of it, because nobody will buy it in their stores.
People that have been into cultivation know the difference between
crap and quality.
This hobby that we are all into, we've all found out the hard way. The only true way to saving money on building an indoor garden is building it yourself completely.
Your not going to save money by buying cheap chinese crap, eventually it
will have to be replaced by something of better quality.

For example:
Go to Walmart, practically everything in there comes from China.
How often do you have to replace something that you bought from Walmart?
