Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Great. Jackass Jeff Sessions, who compares marijuana to heroin, will rescind memo that prevented federal money being used to prosecute where marijuana is legal by the state. Marijuana = Heroin. F’ing dumbass.

I love it when people like Jeff Sessions say "addicts" need better treatment options...I'm not a freaking addict! I don't even want to take the stupid medications I take...I'd love to be able to never have to wake up after 2 hours of sleep reaching for vicodin, muscles relaxers, or whatever else might help me get back to sleep. I'd love to be able to go out an actually make use of the $10k worth of tools in my garage and be able to turn out enough work to be profitable because it sure isn't happening now! I've been on pain medication every day for over 10 years and have a body covered in surgery scars. I can't do anything that I used to...at 47 I can't even throw a ball for my dog to chase because of the pain in my elbow...let alone earn a quarter of the living that I used to. My doctors solution for my elbow pain is "another" surgery. Lets see, the first two times you cut it open, I came out worse each time, so why would I believe that letting you take another hack at it would be a good idea? If Jeff Sessions has a better treatment option for me that he's been holding out on then bring it on because I'm really sick of living this way...

Sorry for the rant but people making those kind of blanket, open ended statements that have no possible truth to them really pi$$ me off...

I don't let no fucker cut me unless he can prove with pictures what he is going to do.
I once sat through a 3 hour lecture on reading MRI scans of the spine so I could make sure my neurosurgeon wasn't talking shit.
Still won't let him cut me.

I couldn’t agree with you more. If he cares so much about us and wants to throw crime statistics at us, what about alcohol? Look at all the DUIs and other arrests due to the consumption of alcohol. Look at the deaths caused by it as well. My cousins body shut down and he died at 44 years young. Now I am not proposing he actually do that because I like cold beer. But he needs to explain his true motivation other than him being an old out of touch dumbass.

ANC...the neurosurgeon I have was the only one that wasn't chomping at the bit to start cutting on me. I actually respected him telling me he didn't feel confident that he could relieve the neck pain I have and didn't want to try surgery until I absolutely couldn't tolerate the pain any longer. My elbow, my knee, my lower back, and a gastroenterologist all cut on with promises of pain free post surgery and the gastro doc was the only one that delivered. I was young and eager to get my life back and had good health insurance so I was believing everything I was told because I wanted to be healthy again. I learned a hard lesson, several times over.

I realize I put my body through hell in the first 35 years but I shouldn't have to live whatever I have left miserable because the new government wants to portray weed as the freaking boogie man. I'm so sick of them portraying anyone with pain as drug seekers and addicts...I've been given everything from vicodin to morphine to dilaudid and never once have I decided to crush and snort my pills or anything else. I take them the way I'm supposed to, when I'm supposed to, and I'm the one who has backed my myself down to vicodin from the stronger stuff because I didn't see that it helped much more and the side effects were definitely worse. I'd can get by with vicodin and muscle relaxers and sleeping pills but it's only getting by, not being remotely productive. I wish Jeff Sessions was in the car with me the day I went head-on into a concrete retaining wall at about 60 mph an see if he still wants to limit ways for people to find relief from chronic pain...he might have a little different view of things.

True drug addicts are going to use no matter what, just like criminals will always find ways to get their hands on guns, and drinkers found ways to make moonshine during prohibition. Why do they think punishing the people who play by the rules and obey the laws will have any impact on the guy tying off after spending his last $20 on heroin? I've known plenty of weed smokers in my life and 90% never went on to anything harder, the other 10% were always going to use anything they got in their hands...and you're never going to control that 10% no matter what laws you pass.

Hey guys. Created an account to say, lets not turn this into politics, we all know the system is messed up. I'd rather not read paragraph after paragraph about the same things I alread know.

With that being said.

Submitted app 11/3/17. No response to email. Nothing in the mail as of yet.

Absolutely...no conversation...only dates in the future NakMuayCleo, no more paragraphs...my mistake. But it must be really hard having to read every single thing on every webpage you open since you obviously can't scroll past something you aren't interested in on your computer...

Sorry for bothering you and wasting your precious time. I hope you will only be providing dates and nothing more going forward.

State took my payment right away because I used a card, not a check. Haven’t reached out to them but from why I’ve seen, on this site and others, it looks like early February is likely time of arrival.

Hey
Just thought I would share my experience so far getting the medical marijuana card in Illinois.

It took nine phone calls on nine different days to get somebody to answer my call. I was told they received my application August 25, 2017 this was 39 working days ago 7 1/2 weeks total.

The only information they will release to you about your application is the date that they have received it. I did ask approximately how far backlogged they are. I was told 60 working days or 12 weeks until they get to applications. I was told the day they review your application it’s approved or denied that same day. if it’s approved it’s mailed to the DMV and other agencies to be printed and that could take approximately 10 to 14 business days or 3 weeks.

Long story short It’s October 18, 2017 and it takes approximately start to finish according to the secretary 10 to 11 weeks. And they are just falling further and further behind.

1) The state is understaffed and has no sure fire procedure to Efficiently process applications.

2) It is impossible to get a hold of anybody or get any sort of response as to what’s going on with your application.

3) I had to drive almost 3 hours to find a doctor.

I know this is just a pilot program and there’s a lot of kinks to be worked out but there’s plenty of other states that have developed efficient ways to handle those why is Illinois being so stubborn. It doesn’t take over three months to get antidepressants or hard-core pain killers.

Can’t Illinois be good at anything for crying out loud we’re already one of the most laugh at states across the board.

Patience is a virtue I suppose.

Sincerely
A agitated resident of Illinois.

Bluesboy - thanks for the update. I submitted about a week behind you and my check was cashed about a week behind you. I've got high hopes that I'll be seeing that envelope in my mailbox this week. Thanks for posting all, it's extremely helpful to have a resource for information in this state while they continue to iron out the kinks of this program, so I'm posting in an effort to keep this thread alive for those who follow.

Here's my current timeline:
10/08 submitted
10/10 received by state
11/24 = 45 day mark
12/08 check cashed
12/17 today... waiting...

Wish me luck for this coming week!
Hey there -- I am so sorry I did not respond.......I usually get an email stating there was activity but have not received a notice. Today I just decided to look and see......well, I had a coupe comments and apologize for not being a good support. I think I see you got your card......if so, AWESOME feeling, isn't it?

Hey everyone -- For some stupid reason, I did not realize people were still commenting. I was getting an email when anyone commented and have not gotten an email. I just want to say I know how frustrating it can be, wanting and wondering. I was lucky to get my card when I did, but want to encourage everyone else. The one key factor I note is that I have not actually heard of a denial. I have only heard how there were a few pieces missing, or something to be resubmitted and then the card is issued. I believe the holidays are a tough time with staffing, as I had an issue with Illinois government last month and realized it is Illinois Government and not to expect much. I guess that's it. Please be patient because it is well worth it when the card is in hand.

So seeing this, maybe I'm getting close!
Submitted electronically via clinic on 10/23/27. Today nothing in the mail. 11 weeks and 2 days. I wish I knew some other people that were at the clinic that day to know how it's going for them. It was Innovative on North Ashland.
