a new year cure

just wanted to know what i could possibly do to lower the rh in my jar to get my buds in the “cure zone” ive been burping it alot, no luck in getting it into that steady 60-65% area everytime i leave the jar closed the temp rises pretty quickly to about 69-71RH% i added these boveda packs but no drop maybe im doing something wrong. any help?

Some people say skip the boveda until long term storage.

thanks dude, super paranoid about them i dont wanna mess this up just want that perfect cure\no grass smell, on my plant i swear they smell exactly like gassy fruit loops really wanna bring that out during my cure

Im guessing that boveda would eventually stabilize the rh im just not sure how long it would take.

I have no idea why peeps use boveda although i bet they are making a ton of cash out of what use to be a simple process.

Were your buds quite dry before you stuck them in a jar? How long do you dry before jarring?

Boveda is totally not required for curing, dry uncured bud should be pretty amazing anyway

Lay your buds out on a table for an hour or two ... You are getting closer.

When I note that jarred buds will show stabile RH ( hygrometer ) at least 69-70 , I lay them out on a table or towel. Buds that are real close will not " compress " down into storage jar - if you see that your buds have clumped at bottom or SHRUNK in jar from being full , is a dead give away that they are still very wet.

The BOVEDAs will stabilize the PROPER RH for storage BUT It CAN help cure - only if RH is very close. I have multiple bottles with 1 per quart. They will stabilize the RH within 6 hours of sealing. Even with the stored buds I have - I open and mix them around with chopsticks ... INTEGRA packs are another option. Keep a hygrometer in the jar to monitor jars as they settle the RH without the BOVEDA first ........... It will help rehydrate too dry buds too. But once cure stops , it's over with.

But once you get the hang of burping jars you can cure properly without them ...
It takes practice to get curing right.

those look magical, yeah mine are definately not clumping at all outside feels nice crispy n dry stem is flexy and when tearing apart the buds theres a nice crisp but also a nice stickynesss to it. i guess ill leave them outside for an hour n a half then put em back in to see if i can hit that stable 62%

dried for 7 before jarring, and yes buds were nice n dry n the outside yet sticky and nice feeling when i out em in

Try a longer dry before jarring and keep some for a long dry and compare that to the finished cured bud.

longer dry next time. practice makes perfect. it took me 2-3 times to get it right i think and i still botch the cure sometimes lol.

also the boveda packs, ive never used them so i cant say personally but ive read that they wont lower the RH in the jar so if you are above the cure zone they wont really make a huge difference. that is, they arent effective at absorbing excess moisture. i was under the impression they were used for storing your buds at a consistent RH for longer storage, not as a curing aid.

like i said though i dont have experience with them and going of what ive read so i may be wrong. your nugs look yummy.
