Almost 4 weeks in, whats causing this?

Hey everyone, quick run down.
First Grow Ever
Currently have 3 auto fem ducksfoot
Under a 432W COB LED about 1.7ft away.
Got a 6 inch carbon filter and fan for outake.
Another 6 inch fan for intake.
Current environment is
Temp: 24-26 Off / 26-28 On
RH: 50% off / 60-65% On
Growing in coco/perlite mix in 4gal pots.
Feeding nutrients everytime, for the first 2-3 week was only 1/4 and eventually to half strength, currently on 2/3 strength.

My problem is the tips of the leaves have started to yellow/brown and become dry.

Have noticed some algae growth on the top soil n perlite bits, although i allowed the soil to dry for 24 hours before adding any spraying before lights on.

This is occuring to one plant mainly and starting on another. Can anyone help?

Looks like a touch of nute burn. Straight water for a couple of waterings. You're pushing the nutes a bit hard and some strains are more sensitive.

Dark green algae? Not a problem tho you can spray a little peroxide on it if it bothers you. 3% from the drug store straight or 50:50 will wipe it out.

Never have grown the duck. Hope it goes well.

Cheers for that, just dont wanna give them too much water as they're still quite moist under the first centimeter of coco.

And i think i sorted the algae as i said the top soil is now dry and its died off due to lack of moisture.

Cheers its going to be interesting haha.

Hey guys, had alot going on so havent had time to update, not sure if theyve gotten worse or if ive sort of fixed it, gave them 1/3 strength nutes yesterday when the pots were pretty much empty. Gotten some paler bits in the lower leaves. Have roots coming out the bottom of the pot and they looking very healthy.

Honestly got no clue whats causing it, are the symptons an opening toward the fact ive got no way of testing accurately or changing the ph of my water?

If anyone has a ppm meter, ph up&down kit and ph testing kit they'd like to recommend (online bought) would be appreciated.

Also looking at getting an air pump and air stone for 24hr aeration for the water used on plants. I heard it helps to get rid of the chlrorine and other chemicals out? Any opinions on that?

Cheers in advance.

Get yourself a ph kit, a cheap one will do, get some ph down. Your probably feeding way out of PH range. You can buy a quality PH pen if you have the coin, don't cheap out on a pen if you get one. But if not a cheap test kit with drops and paper will serve you better than nothing. Its pretty unlikely your tap water is coming out in coco ph range.

Once you have the right tools for the PH flush the coco with water lots and lots and then add half strength nutrients back into it.

Also you don't need to worry too much about overwatering , looks like you have a reasonably well established plant and coco can be watered often when the root mass has developed.

Might I suggest to the OP that he/she flush with 1/4 strength nutes instead of plain water, because it will mess up the cation exchange capacity.
Cheers for that, i was a little unsure as ive read quite a few times about how using normal water on coco to flush isnt advised?

Just gotta wait a few days for some more money to purchase a few things, hope they dont decide to start crashing all of a sudden while i wait.

PPM pens are pretty cheap. I have an old Hanna that measures in 10x that is 20 years old and it still works OK but needs calibration every couple months so get some good liquid calibration fluid for one. Those powdered ones that you mix up on your own are not very accurate. Maybe $10 for a liter but usually less. I bought a new pen that measures in single digits just to use for the colloidal silver I make as it's down around 12-15ppm. I just diluted the 1000ppm test sol'n down to 20ppm with distilled water from the drug store to check that one. It's a TDS EZ made by HM Digital and was $25. Even cheaper online.

With pH pens you want something a little better than the $20 ones you can find online. The last one I got is an ECO TestR pH1 Made by Eutech/Oakton and was $69 at a local garden center. eutechinst.com or 4oakton.com. Much better than pH drops as it's pretty hard to tell the subtle difference in colour and it's different depending on the light you view it under and the amount of turbidity, (sediment etc), in the sample you are testing. Good enough for maybe a 0.5 range of pH but I like to get closer than that tho I haven't bothered checking pH since I started using pH Perfect nutes and not had problems related to pH since with RO water.

A pH pen takes more tender loving care than a ppm pen tho. You should have pH 4 and 7 calibration sol'ns and some storage sol'n to keep it in between uses. Most have a cap that can keep the probe soaking for a long time and you just rinse that off with a spritz of water before using it for testing or re-calibrating. Should last 5 - 7 years if properly cared for. If you plan on not using one for a long time then allow it to dry and then let it soak in storage sol'n for 24 hours before calibrating and using it again. Do the same for a new pen before using it. The website for whatever pen you get should have detailed instructions but they are all pretty much the same. NEVER let them sit in RO or distilled water as it will leach the salt sol'n out of the glass ball and destroy the probe. Neither RO or distilled water has a pH of it's own and does not need to be tested for pH. ALWAYS add your nutes etc first then test for pH and ppm.

It seems a little complicated but after doing the calibration etc a few times it's dead easy. If the numbers seem to go all over the place for either pen it's likely the batteries are low but not low enough to trigger the battery low warning.

Have fun!

Hey guys, thought it'd be update time.
So almost a month later and they're looking okay, the tallest currently sitting at 16".
Faced a mag issue last week on one plant, but with cal mag on hand i think i've sorted it as the new growth isnt showing signs.

Currently using boiled then cooled water and after adding nutes, pH sits at about 5.7-5.9 so i just ph up to around 6.3-6.5
They're now 62 days old still in veg, i'm planning on letting them veg for another week or two.
Was also wondering peoples opinions on shwazzing just before switching to flower, and then again 2-3 weeks into flower, just noticing cause i'm growing ducksfoot, the webbed mutation covers a larger area than regular leaves, especially on the fan leaves.

What's this ducksfoot weird leaf witchery? Looks interesting. Almost like sassafras.

Edit: smacked my meat puppets against the old gargler for a minute there and got some info on the strains. Thats crazy. Just when you thought you've seen all the wild stuff you find frisian duck.

Update time!
Hey guys, so we're about 2 1/2 weeks into flower and they're looking very happy, defoliated the two big ones a little yesterday.
Watering every three days now.

Have two Jack Herer Fem saplings at the moment, although the cat got to one today, not happy. Germing two trainwreck seeds now aswell. - Will upload photos when they're bigger.
