I'd try pealing back one end a little then apply some solvent like lacquer thinner, acetone, adhesive remover etc. I plan to test that but a friend has my thermal tape, I set him up with strips and a driver for his shop. What tape did you use, got a link?
can u try to heat it with heatgun to see if it will loosen up? the thermal tape I used from amazon is nuts too no way its coming offI fucked up the positioning of the strips, when I mounted them with thermal tape. I want to correct it, because it makes my wiring complicated now...
But I was not able to take the strips of at all. Tape is working... I tried with a knife, to take them off, no chance!
Does anyone has a trick for me, how to get the strips off again?
@Randomblame ?
I was gonna suggest the same thing. We use heat guns to remove stubborn tape at work.can u try to heat it with heatgun to see if it will loosen up? the thermal tape I used from amazon is nuts too no way its coming off
Do you mean your readings are roughly half at the same distances Chip?I have 4ft long "ladders" with 15x of the very same EBs (560mm 3000k), as the charts 3.5 LMBS shared, also running at 700ma (HLG240C700) and after a quick "Dr Meter" LUX reading, I'm finding my distances roughly doubled (eyeballed, no ruler) to get near those numbers, and I guess I have about twice as many strips, in a larger area although, so that stands to reason, more overlaps?...
How's the 630 working out fellow?so i just went back in time...I replace my led strip light rig with a 630w CMH. I have no idea how to use it, if there are any weird things i need to know? I have never actually owned a HID light, i have only ever run LED...
I have alot of tools, but no heatgun^^ Most important for me was the visual appearance, that worked out anyways with a little tricking.
But thanks for your suggestions!
That would kill my 1ft strips, but I got, what you wanted to tell me1050 or 1400mA

I will try it at some point with the strips with broken connector, which I don‘t use. Sound like a good idea!
No, I mean the distances roughly doubled to get the SAME readings(ish) that you had....Do you mean your readings are roughly half at the same distances Chip?

Well that's what I thought you meant, but now I'm confused...I'll explain; No, I mean the distances roughly doubled to get the SAME readings(ish) that you had....
I have 30,000+ lux at over just over a foot...
I have checked my small cab (2sqft), with white walls, and there is nearlly no difference between 1-2“ and 5“-6“. Everything over 35w/sqft was stressing my plants, even with the bigger distance.
I don‘t have any knowledge about the subject, but just thought about it: if I rais my light, there will be more overlapping, so every bud is getting light from more angels. Inverse square law, light getting lost, bullshit! atleast in every cab / tent with reflectiv walls (90% reflection). More angels, more uniform, more efficient, so it will negate the 10% loss. Just my pov, but no science behind my arguments!
Most difference I see is, that my plants grow more bushy, since I covered the whole canopy with strips and raised the panels. Such a nice grow, compared to the fl tubes I had before. 2nd major change was, that I was able to run 50w with 12x 1ft strips, instead of 2x 75w fl tubes, with better results! 2/3 energy saving, thats was like a miracle for me. And I think it‘s all because of the uniformity.
I am really liking it. I am getting a new reflector for it to better serve my space. But as of now my plants have reacted favorably to the new light. I am actually running it at 600 watts not at 630, its not an energy saving thing, its just my ballast only runs at 600 watts. If things continue this way, i may replace all my lights with these. My current CMH could be described as a Gavita knock off. It looks just like it, but is not a actually gavita. But regardless, it works great. I am curious as to how long it will last. How's the 630 working out fellow?
For some reason I'm slightly jealous. I'm sure it's partly -mostly due to the fact i've had 2×250w HPS bulbs for, no lie, a good dozen years and never lit em up. But a 630 CMH
I wonder if Santa hears me
