He was being a smart ass. No, smoking weed will not cause receding gums unless you're smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day as well, or fucking smoking meth.

I brush 4 times a day and floss every night. I smoke king size joint every day half in the morning and other half at night. Was thinking to switch to vaporizer not sure if that helps?

Tell your Dentist of your Gum problem.

He/she may have you stop treating your teeth like rocks and your gums like concrete and be a little gentler with your gums.

So smoking anything can cause this? This all time I was brushing wrong I was going back and forth side to side until I looked it up I realised that can also cause this.

So your saying smoking joint will not cause this? Should i just stick to bongs and vapes to avoid this for future notice? Or in the end all this was not the cause of my gums receding. Instead it was bad brushing method?
 
Remember to drink water and stay hydrated. I think cotton mouth is the main reason gums get damaged from smoking/vaping weed.

Also, use the softest tooth brush you can find. There's really no reason to use anything but the extra soft brushes.

There has been "some" evidence that weed can cause some issues with your gums. Problem is sorting out the BS from the true effect. I use H202 with small brushes in between my teeth, then use a water pix, then brush with parodontax toothpaste and I'm old. Should have taken care of my teeth when I was young and wouldn't have all the crowns and bridges. Dah!
