No. I don't want anyone's help. Just me and you tty. Can you ask the other trolls to shut up for a minute and we can talk.
Pretty sure this is the problem right here. This "us and them" mentality. As for people being upset - to be completely honest, from what I've seen, it's the HPS-faithful (a distinction should be made between them and HPS-growers) that start talking shit and then get all bent out of shape. There are plenty of reasonable people who grow with HID, LED, CFL, sunlight, whatever... It's just the trolls that skew the perspective.our light bulb
Nobody had posted in this thread for 10 days until you shot your mouth off blowhard.Without watching the video produced by a company that sells LED, I'm going to guess LED won.
Let this thread die, the hps guys already won and have left the building.
My response is above.I'm waiting tty I'm not going to waste time responding to everyone at the same time. The rest can wait there turn.
Cool. Just gonna respond to you in a minute and ignore the rest for now. So that I can stay focused.LED is more efficient, has better spectrum, is safer, lasts much longer with less maintenance and offers far superior light distribution.
The only place it lags behind HID is initial purchase price (not counting ROI measured in months, in energy cost savings alone) and that gap is narrowing by the day.
HID is obsolete. The best of it is 315W CMH and even that isn't serious competition once running and lamp replacement costs are figured in.
Good bud can be grown with all of them. It's easier and more efficient to grow with LED.
Even Gavita are coming out with an LED fixture.
If all that isn't enough, @Yodaweed will keep you company. You can both deny the future together.
Just to get started. My response is above.
You'll notice it's all about the merits of the technology.
Q: What are the trends on craigslist?Hard to explain the increasing rush by longtime growers to switch to COBs or Boards though.
I have said similar things many times. I don't think some of the trolls chiming in know that.Q: What are the trends on craigslist?
A: A shitload of legacy gear, but hardly any used LED gear.
Growers are definitely switching.
If you think about it, this is Business 101. If you can get equal or better quality for less cost, that's what you do. It's all about ROI and depreciation.
The city recently replaced a streetlight in front of my house, going from HPS to LED. It's WAY brighter now and probably uses less power.
Don't get me wrong, HPS definitely works -- hell I'm still using it!
But the clock is ticking...
@MichiganMedGrower Hope you have a good morning. Don't want to call you into this debate but it is so quiet. I feel nervous like an assault is coming.
Am I being bad, if I am I always want you to tell me.
I would include my friend the good Dr. but no need to drag him in and you are already here and I like you as my bullshit meter. He is my Sensei.
I will @ him as someone who protects new growers from trolls just like you and me if I make that list.
Do the trolls run rampant here in LED. I haven't spent much time here. Seems like a lot of insecurities here IDK.
This is a legitimate curiousity of mine.
I'm kind of afraid to ask here but what the hell, life is short.
Ignore the topped plants in the back.
The plant in the front is an experiment in under watering. I would like @whitebb2727 ( A lovable guy that will set a troll straight if they mess with a new grower) to look at it also. Must be showing the stress it is being put through. Pistils still look great. The pictures of the one in the front, not topped, is 42" tall and has been watered 3 times after being a tiny seedling and put into that pot, the transplant into the wet soil is not counted as a watering. It is 3 1/2 weeks from flip and is an 11 - 13 week flowering strain from what I have experienced.
Serious question for anyone.
Or is it wrong for me to drag whitebb2727 into this hostile thread. No need to respond here if you don't want too. I can always start a thread in the less hostile problem section.
Q: Would I be able to grow a bigger better plant with LED watering 3 times? If yes maybe I will get some bad ass LED lights.
Didn't really want to talk about the LED vs hps aspects of doing it but I'm curious about that and was also wondering what whitebb2727 thought about its health. I plan to stress it as far as I can and you have a good eye for under watered plants..

We're generally pretty self policing here.TTY, I have another question. Hope it is OK to ask.
You spend a lot of time in the led section. I'm sure it will be the place to be in the near future. Hope I don't wear out my welcome.
I have said before many times there are led growers that I respect.
In the Newbie Central Section or the plant problem section. I can name probably dozens of members that keep the trolls in check.
Are there people that you can name that control the trolls here in the LED section?
