Hey everybody! Now that there's a decent number of people out there who are growing my gear, and many more that have it thanks to Shoe at Headie Gardens, I thought I would finally get around to posting a thread for my beans.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with me, I've been a forum member here and several other places for quite a few years, usually using the name Clankie. I've been growing cannabis off and on here in Colorado since 2001, and growing it nonstop since around 2009.
I believe in purpose-driven breeding, and am trying to mostly create new and unique strains for the cannabis community. The one guiding principle of all my breeding programs was inspired by Chimera, who said, to paraphrase, 'If the offspring of a cross do not exceed the parents in terms of quality, then there is no point.'
I'm not a particularly commercial farmer, but I do run through around 150-200 seed plants per year, and usually find one or two males that have all the traits I look for in breeding stock.
I've got crosses with two different males floating around, one with an exceptionally beastly Apollo 11g f4 male from Bodhi Seeds, and the other with a very stout and branchy Tranquil Elephantizer Remix male, also from Bodhi Seeds. For those who are unfamiliar, the genetics on the Tranquil Elephantizer Remix are (ndnguy's 88g13hp Deadly G female x Snow Lotus male.)
From the Apollo crosses, I have seen increased vigor and yield, varying degrees of added pineapple and melon terps, and a shortened flowering time. The crosses floating around are:
Panty Melt (GSC forum x Apollo 11g f4): faster vegetative time and much higher yield than the cookies, but still retaining very dense buds, great frost, and a more head affecting high. Both females I have grown also have varying degrees of pink and purple coloration from the mother cut that shows up later in flowering.
Snow Wookie x Apollo 11g f4: these have shown to be high yielding, frosty, and vigorous plants, with a wide variety of fruity terps from both parent lines ranging from the lavender touched grapefruit and grape of the mother used to the melon and pineapple terps of the father. I've got 20 of these going now that will be going in to flowering in a few weeks, but these pictures are courtesy of lovellstreet on IG, who got them as freebies through Headie Gardens.
Pura Vida x Apollo 11g f4: I sent a bunch of these out, but have yet to see any of them grown; which is a shame because the Pura Vida mom was a real stunner, with vanilla skunky pine terps and just beautiful frosty buds. The only downside of the mother cut was her viney nature from the HPK, wich is similar to that of my GSC cut, and will hopefully be similarly affected by the Apollo male. If anyone has these and can run them, I will send out another pack of any strain I have available.
That's it for now, I'll post pictures and info for the Tranquil Elephantizer Remix crosses next.
