I just strip all the buds off the stems, break them up to make sure no seeds slip though, then toss them in the oven. Why do you need to grind to decarb? I never grind mine. I just break it up. The smaller the pieces, the more plant material you get in your finished product...yuck!
Reading & reading/looking through videos, etc.... but, you sure make a good point. It would really save a lot of time not grinding it! I also saw some that decarbed in the mason jars, but...I think I'll just break it up. EASY sounds great to me!Why do you need to grind to decarb? I never grind mine. I just break it up. Yes, you will have much better tasting results if you are making edibles also!Reading & reading/looking through videos, etc.... but, you sure make a good point. thanks to all of you.
This is a great question! I thought about grinding it in my blender as well, what stops me is I wonder how much trichomes are going to stick to the glass of the blender? .. just consider the inside of one of your curing jarsReading & reading/looking through videos, etc.... but, you sure make a good point. Very good point. I wonder that, too. I'm still grinding with the grinder, however, I did try NOT grinding (except the large pieces because it was popcorn and wasn't cut as well) this last time to make tincture, and cindysid was right. After I strained it through the cheesecloth, there were hardly any pieces in the liquid; mostly just "silt' down at the bottom....and it SURE saved me a lot of time! I guess it came out just fine, as the tincture is working very well . It has actually helped migraines!!!! I made it with Afghan, which is supposed to be good for pain, but didn't mention migraines.... sure glad it helped. I mainly use it for nausea.... the help with pain/migraines is an extra ....YAY!This is a great question! I snip.. snip with sissorsI've been using my little hand grinder to decarb, and my hands are tired. I've avoided the blender due to all the parts to clean after. Anyone use a blender instead of a grinder, and is it hard to clean up after?
thanks!
I just take my bud and trim to Sister. She does all the work, and I just eat the brownies.I snip.. snip with sissors
is she married..?I just take my bud and trim to Sister. She does all the work, and I just eat the brownies.
Kind of, sort of, but not really. I call her old man my BIL, but she said she was done with marriage. They've been together 12-13 years so far.is she married..?
lol
.. ya know Suz, I think you might be on to something!? I kind of agree the blender, even on low is going to really put those trichomes in the air and I'm not sure how to get them all out of, & I'm stuck from the blender?Very good point. @Beachwalker, I think we both agree . Blender is going to stay for food (or, in the cabinet, as it has been ). I'm on my way now to learn to make hash...and oil, next. I think that's the order I'm going.....not sure yet..... gotta do my taxes first . That'll take about 2 weeks before I can get them to the CPA.. My husband has his own business and we have 5 rentals....aghhhh! At least we don't itemize! First thing when I'm through is to make the hash or oil... ya know Suz, I think you might be on to something!? I suppose it could be done but I think a lot might be lost, and I think a lot might be damaged too. Think I'll keep doing it the way I am too!
-good luck glad it worked out for you!
Oh man let me talk about Hash! My fav they have this little shake can, all dry work way better than Bubble Bags, I'll put a link to it on Amazon it's like 15 bucks it's the simplest way to get really good hash..! I think it's called a pollen separator in case I forget to link@Beachwalker, I think we both agree . Blender is going to stay for food (or, in the cabinet, as it has been ).
