Don't use growstones! They're loaded with lime, CaCO2, which ruins pH control. I've been battling pH swings from hell thanks to these rocks. Trust me, you don't want to be in the position I'm in right now. My plant looks horrible.

I've been researching around and have come to the conclusion that neoprene sponge foam cubes are the best medium ever. They're sterile and 100% inert out of the box. No washing or stabilizing needed. Only draw back is you have to buy a roll and cut out the cubes yourself. Once I finally give up on these grow stones, I'm going to give them a try. Amazon neoprene sponge foam too see what I'm talking about. They come in varied thickness.

The ideal substrates for a run to waste.top feed drip system would be coco coir pots or slabs..rockwool blocks and slabs...or soilless peat/perlite mixes in pots.

How are you running to waste in a GH Waterfarm? Sounds interesting.

the sight tube that runs up the side of it. i cut it at the level where the top bucket meets the lower res, maybe an inch and a half above the line they put in the tube. set the timer on my pump to fill it up from top and it will keep filling until it starts going out the overflow tube. one feed per day usually about a gallon which is about 8 minutes on my timer.

workded great last grow, no res changes in the waterfarm. doing the same so far on this one.
