@ThatSpudGuy , can I pick your brain please about the coco bricks? So, according to the instructions I soak the bricks and set nutrient water to a ph of 5.5. My question is, do I soak the bricks in water that has also been set to 5.5? Ta... (:
5.5 is the lowest ph for coco but optimal ph is 5.8 thats what i always ave it set to. Yeah you want to ph the water you soak the bricks in aswell. I added a little extra to the water i was soaking in like a little calmg and silica

Jawb. Cheers for that! I assumed I'd have to set the ph but you'd imagine it would be stated on the instructions too. A complete noob might just chuck in water set at any level and then wonder what the hell is going wrong.

Yeah I'll be adding some megacrop to the soaking water to give it some oomph. My skunk lady broke ground overnight, hopefully the kush will pop up shortly too.

As an aside, I've started these ladies in soil and biodegradable pots which I'll plant directly into the coco, have you ever grown in 2 mediums before, any issues? I had planned to grow them only in soil but yourself and fishbulb twisted my arm on the coco.

Yeah i know thats what would feck people up then. Be interesting to see your skunk lady. Have you any journals going? My green crack just germinated so ill be planting them now then setting up a journal.

I did mix soil with coco one time because i ran out of coco and i found it caused the plant to stretch an awful lot and it messed up the node spacing. I think people say you shouldnt mix the 2 because soil ph and coco ph are different. You might be ok if it was just a small bit

No online journals, I was without a computer for ages so I was keeping a handwritten journal for myself. I got the laptop a few weeks ago so since then I'm keeping my notes on a spreadsheet but I don't have a complete journal. I might start one here though for the latest grow... we'll see.

Re the mix of mediums, well there's not whole lot I can do about it now, is there!:lol:
