Coco is very forgiving compared to soil and doesnt latch onto salts like soil. I get it from amazon then just use address pal for the uk address its handy as heck
Well I took the plunge and got some coco bricks instead of soil. I discovered a new grow shop opened near where I live so I drove in for a nose and said I'd pick them up as I was there. The decor is store room meets head shop  I also got the distinct impression I might have been the first female to set foot in there! They're only open 2 months so it's a possibility.

I have an OG Kush and Skunk XL that should hopefully break ground, either today or tomorrow so I'll be putting them in the coco.

What nutes are u running kit10 ?
Up to a few weeks ago I was using all BioBizz but I recently got a promo bag of MegaCrop after hearing so many good things. I'm following this journal if you want to have a nose for yourself, my girls are thriving on it and it's SOOOOOOOO much easier. No mixing nutes, just 1/2g powder per litre of water in early veg and slowly increase dosage as they grow.

If anyone's interested, the promotion is still available - a free 230g bag which will do a few grows, (depending on how many plants you have of course!), just pay for the shipping which was $13.50 from the US. https://greenleafnutrients.com/product/mega-crop/?v=f24485ae434a

Have the perlite too! :D Today was actually my first time setting foot in a grow shop, I usually do all my shopping online but the shop is like 5mins out the road from me so I couldn't not go.

What ratio you going to use? Id normaly do 70/30. Ive only stepped foot into a grow shop once and it was to show me how to setup the parabolic reflector lol

Looks good but you might want to pick up some epsom salt because coco contains no nutrients and demands a nice bit of calmg but you could be ok with the cal seems to be a nice bit in the mega crop. I just bought 5litres of canna coco so im set for a while lol

If I'm honest, I kinda got the impression I might have known more than they do, and I don't know shit!:lol: Maybe it was the presence of estrogen that stunned them. :bigjoint:

But anyhoo..... all my root pouches are 12L and each block makes 9L so the ratio is already worked out for me.

Yeah, the mega crop is a complete feed, no other nutes necessary. Have a nose through yer man's journal and you'll see the results for yourself, he's using nothing but megacrop and is completely converted. There are a few other members saying the same.

A great tip for coco uses is to buy some Epsom salts on eBay. Because coco is terrible at holding to magnesium it it absorbs it I can remember I put 4 table spoons in to 220 litres. The sulphates with help with flavour and ripening of your flowers :-) also it's nice to add to the foot spa when you get a chance to chill

My first cob run and the bud sizes are the same size but way denser. I'll be interested in seeing the size and weight difference between a 600watt hps and 600atts of DIY citizen cobs

@Fishbulb
Just did a bit of research about cob. Never heard of it before til you mentioned it !
What type of light have you got ? Was it expensive ?
I'm blown away by the technology coming out. Some crazy ideas out there.
Here's one cob I read of "The Morsen MAX series". Some of the lights go up to 3600W ! And only use half the power of LEDs.
Fuckin mental shit !

I bought 3 X DIY kits from kingbrite citizen
https://m.alibaba.com/product
It took me day to build the proxy frame and drill 58 holes
Snapped three bits in the process. I had 2x mars 1200 great product but half the hps yeild
I wasn't going to drop all the cash on 1200 wars replacement with out giving it a go first. Hps has been king for a long time. I'm comfortable with a 1200wat grow it does me well. The last hps grow a1200 watt grow got me 28 Oz and I fucked off on holidays for two weeks holidays in the middle of it. No one looking after them and the house locked up and alarm on

@ThatSpudGuy , can I pick your brain please about the coco bricks? So, according to the instructions I soak the bricks and set nutrient water to a ph of 5.5. My question is, do I soak the bricks in water that has also been set to 5.5? Ta... (:
