Again it's more the way you've formed the question than anything else which makes it difficult to answer. I don't have the same fawning superstitious beliefs that you do regarding the "legal system" . That doesn't mean we don't agree that a person who bangs somebody who hasn't or can't give consent isn't guilty of something.

If any person violates another persons rights of course there should be consequences.

For instance if I saw you lurking around my backyard wistfully eyeing the dog kennel and holding a bag of doggie treats, I think it would be okay for me to remove you.

You're the one that's digging Poindexter. You've somehow made a false connection between me observing and identifying the right of a person who has the wherewithal to do something with my personal agreement or participation with what that other person has chosen to do.

In other words your inability to distinguish the difference make me suspect you might not be very bright.

Mister Dullard Prohibitionist,

I do not like severely mismatched age partners. That is not my preference.

I wish other people would share my preferences. I have no right to intervene when others make choices I wouldn't, if their choices are confined to them and all parties are capable of consenting.

Not really. You see I prefer that terms like "legal" and "illegal" be discarded in favor of terms which don't default to government speak. Concepts such as legal or illegal don't mean much when you consider what is deemed legal or illegal isn't a mirror for right or wrong. If they are, it is more coincidence than following a consistent procedure. For instance laws which prevent people from self determination make a victim out of a statutory criminal and don't protect anyone, since there is no victim. Yet those kinds of laws abound.


Also, I appreciate you now seemed to have moved off calling me a pedo to merely accusing of me of being a supporter. Which is still funny, and I'm still laughing at you, but not quite so hard.

Should I assume in your fantasy scenario, the kids are incapable of giving consent ? Based on the their ages it seems likely.

If you knew your President was authorizing the death of babies would you consider that nothing to be concerned with?

Wait I thought you said a 12 year old can give consent. So now you agree that NO 12 year old can give consent to have sex with an adult.

People who are incapable of giving consent cannot consent. The younger people are the less likely they've arrived at a point where they can.

I don't have any right to deprive a person who is capable of consenting to something which isn't harmful to others from doing so. Could you tell me which person has that right ?

Your question is a bit incomplete. Is the person in your example incapable of providing consent or are they capable ? Your answer lies there.
