Blurple Led Yes or NO?

Blurple lights grow fine bud. You just need to use more watts due to their inefficiency, and be ok with a light that might only last 6 months
Now I've heard it all. You must have had bad luck or for it to only last 6 months.Next time don't buy such a cheapo. I have 2 that are just over 2 years old and Noooo problems. No they didn't just magically stop working either. How do you guys brainwash yourselves into thinking that all blurpies have some built in secret timer that makes the light quit working after 6 months?

You saying that all blurpies breakdown shortly after purchase and expecting me to believe that is about as far fetched as me saying that all Ford trucks breakdown and expecting the world to believe me. Just because me and a group of brainwashed followers say Fords all suck doesn't mean that Fords suck. That would just be our opinion.

I rate it this way from least to greatest
Flourescent
Blurple
Cob
Hps
Quantum boards
The last three are really close, but in my experience blurple kicks flouro ass.
You can't lose with any of the last three, and depending on the setup will get the same results.
I haven't tried lec or the others so I can't comment on them. You can pull a respectable grow with blurple but not the cheapo crap. I used 2 Apollo 400 series leds and pulled 8oz of one plant but that's not common.

Not sure if that was meant to be negative, but I am agreeing with you. "Blurple" works fine in my book, and I ran em 2 years before losing a diode or two.
I run Vero 18 s and 29 s now to keep the heat down in the summer.
Congrats on the well known user title!
I'm just being funny man. I'm a jokester and sometime my sense of humor gets frowned at. Kinda like blurpie lights.

My Mars Hydro blurples lasted about a year before they both failed in the exact same way, 1 day apart. Telling people they are brainwashing themselves, especially when you have no more information about it than they do, is pretty rude. You might want to dial that back a notch.

I am not brainwashed, and I follow no one.

Uh just read your post saying you were joking, your sense of humor might make sense in person, but in writing it just seemed mean. No worry though, chillin'

I wasn't joking about the brainwashing part. Again,, Just because your old ass mars(junk) lights broke down on the same day doesn't mean that they all do. there you go with that brainwashing shit trying to convince the world all blurps are on a timer to die. Ha-chu! I'm soooo allergic to bullshit.

Sorry if you feel I'm exposing the brainwashing scheme but no I wont dial it down a notch. I'm not trying to be mean or rude at all, I'm simply stating my feelings and opinion about it. My Daddy told me once ..." If ya cant take the heat get out of the kitchen and stop ur bitchin'. I mean this in the most loving way possible.
I'm sure your a great guy and stuff, but I just whole heartily believe that there's some brainwashing going on here. When people try and control what lights other people are using instead of just just simply and politely sharing growing secrets and stories. That's fucked up and that's how i know that certain people who started the brainwashing must be getting kickbacks from these companies. These certain people have acquired a following of drones who can't see past the bullshit. Are you a certain person getting a kickback, or are you a drone? I'd like to know which, so I know who I'm talking to.

But your opinion is based on owning 2 blurples for 2 year Davey. How is it anymore valid than his, more so any more valid than the thousands of folks who have experienced problems with them, some folks on hear have used LED since they came out and came to the same conclusion most have based on usage and personal experience.
Not to mention there's just no point in running an LED unless its more efficient than HPS. Otherwise your just buying into BS and it is BS that a blurple of one 3rd wattage can equal a hps. Its BS that there's no heat or less heat if you need the same wattage or more to do the same job. Its BS when they add the diodes up and call something a 1000w grow light. Its lies like that which gave these types of light the bad rep they have.

Blurple will grow plant, no doubt. That's fine if you want to pull 0.75GPW. If you want to pull 1.5GPW then it isn't happening with blurple. Even expensive blurple use cheap diodes. Don't have the efficiency, difference is they are made with more care and greater quality control.

Just one more point, your arguing that folks are lying about amazon reviews been faked? Its well know you can buy reviews for a dollar a piece or even less.

I think your showing typical signs of a paranoid stoner talking about conspiracies and insulting folk who are trying to point people in the right direction. Who said there was a timer in them? Nobody. They said they have a short life span.

Okay, you obviously don't understand who the fuck you are talking to. I am the most free thinking person you are likely to meet in your life. I am not going anywhere with any brainwashing shit, I made an attempt to illustrate the flaw in your logic but all you can apparently think about is your hard-on for whatever group you claim to be against. I do not give a fuck what lights people use, at all. I honestly have no idea who you think you are fighting, but it sounds like paranoia. You might have a problem you aren't aware of, like an undiagnosed mental illness. I do not intend any insult to you by saying that, it is my intuition, based on experience. You have been deeply insulting to my individual intellect and integrity. You have a crusade to wage, that's fine, leave me out of it.

As far as kick backs, ? Ever think these people bought one of the lights from one of these companies and loved it so much they are happy to recommend. Otherwise every member who hangs in the LED forum is getting paid.
Paranoid..

By the way, I loved my blurple lights and plan to buy some more that are not as junky as those Mars Hydro lights, and I don't need anyone to tell me they were junk. They were inefficient garbage, but; They grew some dank nugs. Shit, I think more people should try flowering under 1000 watts of T5s, at least once, and that junk is not efficient. But it will grow incredible quality bud, when done right. I would love to be able to drop a grand on some mid power LED panels, there are such amazingly efficient chips out there these days, but I don't say that for dogmatic reasons, I say it for mathematical reasons. I am a skeptical rationalist, hedonist, and non-believer in all gods. Don't get it twisted again, please.

To the OP- I used one crappy blurple 300w galaxy hydro on one plant this spring and I got 2.25oz from it with zero training, pretty much neglect at it's finest, in a 3 gallon pot in soil. The branches were lanky and not filled in very well. I needed more light.

Now, I have 2 of those mediocre blurple 300w and one not so blurple viparspectra 600w, all in a 4x4 space with 6 plants and it's looking just great and I may get those filled in branches I am hoping for. I'm on week 4 flower, but I already see this grow doing much better than my spring grow.

There is just my experience for you! Happy growing, friend.

if the blurples can give you .75gpw, i would say thats winning for the money it cost to grow the crop. even with 1000watt hps, not all growers will hit over 1.0gpw, so let the people do what they wanna do and they will live and learn from what they're using and make changes to increase their harvest. Don't be so judgmental on them. Peace out!

The elitism in the cannabis world is staggering. Lights, genetics, nute brands, soil brands.
I was under the impression that this was a caring and loving community of peacefull hippies but found a gaggle of douchebag homies instead.
1. Yes blurple will work as a starter light and you can get decent yields though with lower efficiency Same for flouro.
2. Any random bag seed can and will grow and compete with any "quality" brand name seed, in the right hands.
3. Hydro gets quantity soil gets quality, but not in any noticeable measure by the layman joint smoker.

Suggesting better lights, better genetics, better medium, is a cool thing to do.

Bashing what a guy can afford to buy because of a low budget, limited space,
= DOUCHEBAG.
I'd rather grow with floodlights than not grow at all.

I think the peaceful hippies died out years ago. there is a lot of arrogance and ignorance on this site. considering the popularity of T5s and the many successful grows people have with them I do not understand the hatred for them on this site.may be due in part by the false information LED makers put out. seems more accurate and reliable information can be found on youtube.I have grown with multiband and high efficiency white LEDS (165lpw) as well as small HPS (150 watt) and T5s.I prefer T5s but the only way to know what light works best for you is to do well controlled comparison grows.both multiband and whits LEDs only target a small percentage of the pigments in plants but plants can adapt to them just like they adapt to HPS.clearly a commercial growers can afford more expensive lights but I have seen small PU growers get great results with CFLs. low budget growers should not be criticized. the most important factor in growing is grower skill. an good grower can get better results with CFLs than a poor grower would get with CMH bulbs.people here are not engineers or horticulturalist. they are stoners growing weed. can we put aside the arrogance and share information and personal experience like people with a common interest?a few of us do have training in electrical engineering and have studied horticulture and the ones who act like experts here a very amusing to people that actually understand the science.hydro and HPS will get the highest yield . soil and CMH or florescence's will give the best taste and potency because of the UV light they produce and the buffering effect of soil.

Agreed! currently looking for some uv supplementation for my new girls. Lots of options.
For joe or jill schmo growing in the dorm room closet, heck yea a mars300 will pull 3 oz or more on a plant if your dialed in.
But on that hypothetical thread you'll get a half dozen jerks chiming in about "grow big or go home"
Typically spouting nonsense about a 400 watt hps and expensive and elaborate methods to prevent your closet from becoming a pizza oven.
Either that or the cob/quantum guy pointing them to a 2 to 300 dollar diy, when the OP in question is likely living on ramen noodles.
Grab some flouros, blurple, what ever and get growing!!! Its fun, its rewarding, and you'll get stoned either way!

Good hunting

I'm a COB Quantum guy but MacGyver my share and grow small. Id bet there are more smaller growers than commercial.

Id bet a person could grab a couple of these and hang/grow with them. There COBs and easy to get. In general the members here try to support sponsors of the site.

It would probably surprise most, but I'm pretty sure if its in the right spectrum it would do just fine.
I'm a lazy diy with electronics and my lights are modest, and effective.
But the timber and cobkits offerings all look great and ill likely be purchasing from both after saving up my pennies and beer money for a year or so.
