Yield per meter squared

I have 5 meters squared, or 54 square feet of grow space. Using a recirculating and well aerated DWC system, how much dry weight should I expect under adequate lighting with big yielders like Super Skunk? Looking for input, specifically from any cob led growers out there. I'm using approximately 720w per 4x4 under Vero29's. Please and thank you to all.

General rule of thumb is:

For every 1000w HID you can expect to yield 1.5lbs to 2.0lbs per 5x5 area depending on genetics and style of growing. No matter how many plants in that area as long as it's filled in.

You need a minimum 35 watts per square foot to grow these demanding plants but they do best with 50 watts per SF.

Regular HPS bulbs should be changed every 2 cycles, max 3.

Super HPS bulbs witch have better colors, better light intensity and longevity, can run up to 5 cycles, before loss of yield.

Good Luck !

That 50w per sq ft is a little high for cob lighting though, no? I had seen a lot of posts with yields as high as 2lb per 4x4 or approximately 900g/1.5m2 which is close to what the better seed banks would specify for the high yielder at 550-600g/m2. Am I way off with my expectations under optimal conditions, without co2?

Am inexperienced in SMD, COB LED tech but it sounds promising. I would say you could hit that mark. If you train them well.

how good a grower are you?
how long to veg?
scrog?
enviro dialed in perfectly?
720 w X 1.5g/w=1080grams

Btw they have an AK strain bred with Ruderalis fem seeds. It yields 700g to 800g indoors and 1200g outdoors/greenhouse. 22% THC. 51 days to 61 finishing time.

Yes I know what your all thinking now lol .... have fun!!!!! :dunce:

Which seedbank is that at?

I'm a decent grower. New to COB. This was a big build for me and a pretty steep learning curve but with the better COB lights, to my understanding, ~700w is equivalent to a 1kW HPS, with better spread too. Less penetration though, so it requires some better topping and training. I'd be pretty happy with 4lb every 3 or 4 months per 8x4, growing 8 or so monster plants. I'd like to eventually expand and add more tents when I dial everything in just right but that'll have to wait until first harvest.

I don't see what the big deal is? 700-800 grams per 1000w isn't anything to write home about...
That's around 1.7lbs I thought that was pretty good? Especially outdoors at 1200g because look at other strains at outdoor yield compared to indoor and you'll see what I mean.

Am sure they mean per square meter not per light. I'll be finding out shortly, I'll post to this thread in the future if anyone keeps tabs. lol

The picture is for people to understand that are just reading this thread not directed at you specifically. Yields are generally not set in stone by the varying degrees of growing styles and methods of course.

"1.5lbs to 2.0lbs is average yields for 1k"

So yes ... A "good" grower can ussualy squeeze out a bit more yield if there are no problems during the entire grow.

:D
