I'm not so sure having a net worth of a million dollars is living the high life if your taking those statistics to mean that? I also am not sure that blanket taxing the investment income at a higher rate of those/me is the answer, that investment income is my retirement income. I speak as a person who does have a net worth of a million dollars and trust me I don't feel privledged and do basically live paycheck to paycheck, or would if I didn't have other assets to take advantage of . Do I feel I need to pay more taxes? Hell no lol.

High taxes would encourage that investment to remain as an investment. Lower tax than wages means that HNW individuals get a break vs those who work.
