Does aluminum conduct heat better than the ceramic package ?

Its an ongoing discussion, the simple answer is ceramic at high current/wattage should be better, but since in this market space everyone is hugely under running everything, it makes little difference. I am not dissing Citi but I have a major Citi customer here having major issues with CLU058 but he is pushing it to the limit and just cannot clear the heat, Im also a little concerned Citi LM80 data seems to refer to earlier series not the current V. but as I say running soft Alum at the lower cost for Citi/Luminous, its hard not to buy. Im interested to see what pricing Cree come up with

I will look into the details, as I say customer is pushing to max current, so not super relevant to the grow sector who run soft, but the 058 is a beast so logical heat at max drive could be an issue

i assume theyve started tests with the newer chips but probably have nothing to report for 11000 hrs or so. im not up to speed on the minimum test length required to forecast forward
